ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team received singles wins from
Colin Brusse and
Jared Hostetter on Thursday afternoon in a hard-fought 5-2 defeat to Drew University at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
Drew (5-5) won two of the three doubles matches to take the first point of the match. All three doubles matches were close, with LVC (7-9) winning at number three and number one needing a tiebreaker to determine the winner. The Rangers won the first four singles matches to clinch the match victory before Brusse and Hostetter ended the night on a high note for the Dutchmen with wins in the final two singles matches.
Inside the Box
- Zach Schrader and Brayden Waiter were the first doubles court to finish with a 6-4 victory at number three.
- Ethan Luu and Mason Dissinger dropped a close 6-4 decision at number two doubles. Jake Erb and Adam Warren had a tight 7-6 (7-0) defeat at number one doubles.
- Brusse cruised through the first set at number five singles before needing a tiebreaker in the second set for a 6-1, 7-6 (7-0) victory. The junior evened his singles record to 6-6 on the year and is 2-1 when playing number five.
- Hostetter needed three sets but came away with a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-3) win at number six singles. The junior improved to 4-3 on the season with his second three-set victory of the year.
- Dissinger rallied to force three sets at number four singles before dropping a tough 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8) decision.

The Dutchmen will begin conference play on Saturday afternoon as they host King's College at the Shankroff Tennis Center. First serves are scheduled for 4 p.m. against the Monarchs.
