HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team started the spring season with a victory as the Dutchmen defeated Johnson & Wales University Charlotte 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Hilton Head High School in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Lebanon Valley (4-4) started the match by winning all three doubles matches to take the first point of the match. The teams split the six singles matches, with LVC taking courts two, three, and five. Two of the singles matches went three sets, and three sets needed a tiebreaker during singles play.
Inside the Box
- Jesse Beck and Zach Schrader earned a 6-4 victory at number one doubles. The pair improved to 5-1 in doubles play during duals this year.
- Mason Dissinger and Jake Erb won 6-4 at number two to improve to 3-1 as a doubles pair this season.
- Ethan Luu and Adam Warren improved to 3-1 when playing together in doubles with a 6-1 victory at number three.
- Beck was the first singles player to finish with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number two. He earned his third singles dual victory of the season.
- Warren went three sets for the fourth time this season and came out on top with a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) victory. He is now 2-2 in three-setters this season.
- Dissinger clinched the match victory at number five with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win. The first-year improved to 5-3 in duals.
- Erb dropped a close three-set match at number four with a tiebreaker needed in the first set. His opponent won 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 1-0 (10-7).

The Dutchmen will play two matches tomorrow in Hilton Head. LVC will take on Saint Vincent College in the morning with first serves scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center. LVC will then face the University of Lynchburg in the afternoon at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.
