SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley indoor track and field teams had another strong weekend as the Dutchmen competed at three different meets. The weekend was highlighted by
Rory Lieberman running one of the top 5,000-meter times in Division III this season at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday evening. The Dutchmen competed at Susquehanna's SU Invitational and Widener's Indoor Classic on Saturday.
Lieberman lowered his school record in the 5,000 meters, running a new Middle Atlantic Conference record time of 14:14.94. He broke the previous record time of 14:18.40 run by Widener great Macharia Yuot during the 2005-06 season. He also beat his previous best time of 14:43.09, which he ran a couple of weeks ago. His time is currently ranked 13th in Division III this season.
Joe Chukoskie also ran at Boston and finished with a career-best time of 14:43.45. His time is second in the program record books.
The Dutchmen had four new Middle Atlantic Conference Championships qualifiers at the Susquehanna meet on Saturday.
Mileyska Calderon finished third in the 400 meters with a career-best time of 1:02.40. Her time is 10th in the school record books.
Luke Macchione was also a new qualifier in the 400 meters with a career-best time of 52.73 seconds. The other two new qualifiers came in the men's triple jump as
Alex Brown had a mark of 12.34 meters (40'6") on his second attempt, while
Taijay Brown recorded a career-best jump of 11.60 meters (38'0.75") on his second try.
Caleb Auzenne finished fourth in the 60 meters with times of 7.11 seconds in the prelims and final. His time is sixth in the program record books.
Ava Matter was fourth in the women's heats with a time of 8.12 seconds after running 8.15 seconds in prelims.
Donovan Goundie finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 51.47 seconds.
Donnie Miller was sixth in the men's 3000 meters with a career-best time of 9:04.52.
Dylan Miller was eighth in 9:36.48.
Joshua Leidich finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.75 seconds after running 8.86 seconds in the prelims. The men's 4x200-meter relay team of Goundie,
Leo Tirado, Auzenne, and
Braden Smith won in 1:32.37. The women's relay team of Matter,
Gabby Welter,
Mikayla Mitchell, and
Anna Sawicki finished second with a time of 1:48.29. That is the 10th-best time in the school record books.
Tola Oyinkolade was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters (16'10.75") on her second jump.
Hailey Myers was fifth at 5.12 meters (16'9.75") on her second attempt.
Alex Brown was fifth in the men's event with a mark of 6.50 meters (21'4") on his third jump. Oyinkolade was also fifth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 10.51 meters (34'5.75") on her fourth try. Sawicki was sixth in the shot put with a toss of 11.09 meters (36'4.75") on her fifth throw.
Aonghas Evanick was fourth in the weight throw at 15.39 meters (50'6") on his fourth throw, while
Jordan Klinger threw 14.00 meters (45'11.25") on his third attempt to finish eighth.
Autumn Garges finished seventh in the women's mile at the Ott Center in Philadelphia during the Indoor Classic at UPenn with a season-best time of 5:05.93.
Abigail Hunt ran an AARTFC qualifying time of 5:12.36. Her career-best time is seventh in the program record books.
Lukas Walko finished with a career-best time of 4:20.92 in the men's race. His time moves him up to seventh in the school record books.
Elijah McKell finished fourth in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 1:54.52 to qualify for the AARTFC Championships.
Sam Rothstein ran a career-best time of 1:56.58, which is sixth in the record books.
Andrew Namatka won the 3000 meters with a career-best time of 8:30.98. That time moves him up to second in the school record books.
Wyatt Leitzel was third in a career-best 8:33.78, which is third in the record books.

The Dutchmen will close out the regular season next Friday, Feb. 20, at Haverford College for the Keogh Invitational. Events are scheduled to begin inside the Alumni Field House at 4:30 p.m.
