FREDERICK, Md. – The Lebanon Valley swimming teams earned a road win on Saturday afternoon as the Dutchmen defeated host Hood College in a quad meet hosted by the Blazers at the Huntsinger Aquatics Center in Frederick.
The men's squad defeated the Blazers 102-59 while the women's team won a close battle 112-100. The Dutchmen also swam against Stevenson University and York College of Pennsylvania at the meet, falling to both of those squads.
Inside the Results
- The women's 200-yard medley relay team of Natalie Bourne, Noryan Mitchell, Colbey Brown, and Marina Weidman finished fourth with a time of 2:11.04.
- Ryan Kuffa finished third in the 1000-yard freestyle as he touched the wall in 11:21.85. He then finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.71. He rounded out his day with a fifth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:21.42.
- Karly Kile finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke with a career-best time of 1:17.95. Nora Cuthie was fifth, touching the wall in a career-best 1:23.09
- Owen Fastrich was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.70.
- Weidman was second in the 50-yard freestyle as she touched the wall in 26.97 seconds. She also finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:07.45. Brown was fifth in the event with a time of 1:12.96.
- Maya Sussman was fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a career-best time of 2:37.51.
- The women's team of Jana Shoffner, Bourne, Weidman, and Kile finished the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.03.
- Edward McClain had a career-best time of 2:25.62 in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Bourne swam a career-best time of 1:13.68 in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Roman Schelhorn swam a career-best time of 1:13.78 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Mitchell swam a career-best 400-yard IM time of 5:43.79.

The Dutchmen will swim another quad meet on Wednesday, Jan. 21, as the women will face Widener University, Immaculata University, and Bryn Mawr College, while the men will take on Widener and Immaculata in a tri-meet. The start of the meet is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Widener's Schwartz Center in Chester.
