Women’s Ice Hockey Secures Sweep of King’s Behind 10-Goal Effort

HERSHEY, Pa. ­­– The Lebanon Valley College women's ice hockey team set single-game program records with 10 goals and 24 points during its commanding 10-0 victory over King's College on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Hersheypark Arena. 

Anna Dale led the Flying Dutchmen (12-4-0, 9-3-0 MAC) to a sweep of the weekend series with a game-high three goals and four points, which tied a game-high. Addi Alaoui also logged two goals and two assists for four points. Additionally, Addison Taylert recorded three points with two goals and an assist, while Abby Mak and Tiffany Anderson tied the program's single-game record for assists with three each. LVC matched a single-game program record with 14 assists as well. 

The Dutchmen generated some offensive opportunities early in the first period, putting five shots on goal during the first 3:57. The squad registered three of these attempts during a power play, as Sky Campanile had a shot saved and Leela Nemani had two tries saved within 34 seconds in the fourth minute. The Monarchs (0-14-0, 0-10-0 MAC) countered with shots at the 4:56, 5:03, and 6:01 marks, and Lebanon Valley responded with three saves by goaltender Savannah Alexander. The teams proceeded to go back and forth over the next 8:09, as LVC put six shots on target while Alexander delivered two more stops during this stretch.

The Flying Dutchmen opened the scoring 15:05 into the first period, taking a 1-0 lead. The program struck first on a goal by Alaoui, courtesy of assists by Camryn Crouch and Norah McCauliffe. Later in the frame, Lebanon Valley found the net again at the 17:48 mark, taking a 2-0 advantage. The squad scored on a power-play goal by Taylert, following assists by Lauren Pennino and Mak. King's then began a power play in the 19th minute, and Alexander tallied a save at the 18:41 mark at the start of a successful penalty kill. 

The Dutchmen kept sending the puck toward the net when the second period got underway, taking six shots that were saved during the first 6:32 of the frame. The team recorded five of these attempts during two power plays. Lebanon Valley scored again at the 7:45 mark, going ahead 3-0 on a goal by Dale after assists by Taylert and Anderson. The Flying Dutchmen quickly added another tally 9:48 into the second, making it a 4-0 game on Dale's second goal. Mak was credited with the assist on this goal. Defensively, Alexander continued to limit the opposition with more saves at the 11:17 and 14:56 marks. 

Lebanon Valley kept its offensive clinic rolling as the second period went on, tacking on a point at the 15:32 mark to take a 5-0 lead. Mallory Burdick sent the puck into the back of the net for the team's fifth goal, courtesy of an assist by Alaoui. Back on the defensive end, Alexander registered more saves for the Dutchmen at the 16:56, 16:58, 17:11, and 17:18 marks during a successful penalty kill. 

The Flying Dutchmen quickly resumed the scoring 1:07 into the third period, extending their advantage to 6-0. The program put another point on the board with a goal by Nemani, following assists by Mak and Amy McKeigue. LVC then created some more offensive opportunities, putting six shots on target over the next 5:51. Lebanon Valley went up 7-0 at the 10:10 mark, as Alaoui netted an unassisted goal. 

The Dutchmen scored again 14:46 into the third period, making it an 8-0 contest on another goal by Burdick. Alaoui assisted Burdick's second goal. Lebanon Valley then advanced the score to 9-0 at the 16:19 mark, as Dale achieved a hat trick with another goal, after an assist by Anderson. The Flying Dutchmen then capped off the game with a goal by Taylert with 20 seconds remaining, prompting 10-0 to be the final score. Dale and Anderson were credited with assists on the final goal of the night. 

Inside the Box Score
  • Lebanon Valley set single-game program records with 10 goals and 24 points. LVC also tied a single-game program record with 14 assists, matching its total from the 9-0 win at Hilbert College on Jan. 4, 2025.
  • Dale posted a game-high and season-high three goals while tying a game-high four points, which set a season-high. The junior leads the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) with 12 goals, and she is tied for the conference lead in points with 22. Dale blocked one shot as well. 
  • Alaoui tied a game-high four points to set a season-high, by scoring a season-high two goals and matching a game-high and season-high two assists. The first-year's first goal also marked her first career game-winner. Additionally, Alaoui took a game-high seven shots on goal. 
  • Taylert matched a career-high three points by tying a career-high two goals while dishing out an assist on Dale's first goal. 
  • Burdick recorded a season-high two goals. 
  • Nemani netted her eighth goal of the season and won eight faceoffs. 
  • Mak tied a game-high and set a season-high with three assists. The first-year also matched the program's single-game record for assists, a mark that has now been achieved six times in LVC history.
  • Anderson tied a game-high and set a career-high with three assists, matching the single-game program record. The senior now has 11 assists this year, which is the most on the team. Anderson won a game-high 11 faceoffs as well. 
  • Crouch assisted the game-winning goal by Alaoui. The first-year also led the team with two blocks on the defensive end.
  • McCauliffe was credited with an assist on Alaoui's game-winning goal as well, while blocking a shot.
  • Pennino was credited with an assist on Taylert's first goal while blocking one shot. 
  • McKeigue logged an assist on Nemani's goal and blocked a shot. 
  • Alexander made 16 saves during her second shutout effort of the campaign. 
  • The Dutchmen outshot the Monarchs 55-16.
  • LVC blocked seven shots on the defensive end.
  • The Flying Dutchmen had a 35-16 advantage in faceoff victories. 
  • Adriana Laveck and McKayla Romano also won eight faceoffs each. This marked a season-high for Laveck.

The Dutchmen will return to action on Friday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., when the team will host Stevenson University for the first of two matchups that weekend at Hersheypark Arena.
