Kramer Scores First Career Goal in Men’s Soccer’s Battle Against Muhlenberg

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Charlie Kramer netted his first career goal for the Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team, as the program dropped a hard-fought 2-1 game to Muhlenberg College on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Herbert Field.

The Dutchmen (1-1-0) generated an offensive opportunity early in the first half, as Nathan Prex put a shot on goal off a free kick, which was saved 1:17 into the game. The programs proceeded to battle defensively for the next nine minutes, as neither team took a shot until the Mules (1-0-1) sent the ball to the left of the net at the 10:17 mark. Muhlenberg then recorded a shot on goal 13:52 into the first, and goalkeeper Ethan Bazydola came through with a save for LVC.

Lebanon Valley created another scoring chance at the 19:17 mark, as Nathan Kimball sent a shot to the left of the net. The teams then went back and forth for over 10 minutes, as neither squad registered a shot attempt during this stretch. Kimball took another shot for the Flying Dutchmen at the 29:36 mark, which went over the net. The programs continued their defensive dominance through the end of the first half, as neither side logged a shot during the remaining minutes. LVC and Muhlenberg entered halftime in a 0-0 tie.

The Dutchmen opened the scoring just 2:59 into the second half, taking a 1-0 lead over Muhlenberg. Prex took a shot on a free kick that was deflected by the Mules' defense in the box, and the ball ended up near the top of the penalty arc. This led to Kramer kicking the ball into the right corner of the net for his first career goal. Muhlenberg responded with a goal by Elie Khalil at the 51:11 mark, tying the game at 1-1.

Lebanon Valley then countered with an offensive opportunity, as Ethan Groff took a shot that went over the net 54:39 into the contest. Prex also put a shot on goal that was saved at the 61:56 mark. Prex then tallied another shot on goal that was saved 64:35 into the game, which was followed by JJ Porter logging an attempt that was saved nine seconds later. Porter had another try saved at the 67:08 mark. The programs proceeded to battle defensively, as neither team put a shot on goal for over 12 minutes. The Mules sent a shot toward the net at the 79:44 mark, and Bazydola made a key stop for the Dutchmen.

Muhlenberg scored again on a goal by Omar Lopez at the 83:20 mark, taking a 2-1 advantage.
