Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Three Dutchmen Net Goals at Lancaster Bible for Women’s Soccer’s Sixth Straight Win

LANCASTER, Pa. – Jayme Beninda, Alison Sepkovic, and Kalei Noonan each scored a goal in the Lebanon Valley College women's soccer team's sixth consecutive victory to begin the year, as the program defeated Lancaster Bible College 3-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Donald H. Funk Field at Willis & Martha Herr Stadium.

The Dutchmen (6-0-0) didn't waste any time getting on the board, taking a 1-0 lead over the Chargers (2-3-0) just 37 seconds into the game. Beninda opened the scoring on the first shot of the night, sending a header shot from just beyond the goal box into the lower-right corner of the net, following a header pass by Kennedy Dings. Lebanon Valley quickly scored again 1:46 into the first half, taking a 2-0 advantage. Sepkovic gave the program a two-goal advantage by taking a shot from beyond the penalty arc and sending the ball into the upper-left side of the net, courtesy of an assist by Abrielle Miller

The Flying Dutchmen continued to generate offensive opportunities early in the first half, as Megan Ressler put a shot on goal that was saved at the 4:38 mark and had a try blocked at the 8:30 mark. The squads proceeded to battle defensively for nearly 14 minutes, as neither program took a shot over this stretch. Miller created a scoring chance for LVC 22:27 into the contest, putting a shot on target that was saved. Beninda then logged an attempt for Lebanon Valley, which was saved at the 26:04 mark.

Lancaster Bible also tallied some shots as the opening half progressed, as the program had an attempt blocked by LVC 31:36 into the game. The Chargers then sent the ball to the left of the net at the 41:24 mark. The Dutchmen countered with a shot on goal by Mikayla Mitchell, which was saved 43:22 into the first. Lebanon Valley went on to take its two-goal lead into halftime.

The Flying Dutchmen took the first shot of the second half, as Jordan Lasky's try was blocked 39 seconds into the stanza. LVC resumed the scoring 49:12 into the contest, extending their advantage to 3-0 over the Chargers. Shortly after a corner kick by the Dutchmen was deflected away by the defense, Noonan took a shot from beyond the left side of the penalty box that went into the upper-left corner of the net for a goal. This marked Noonan's first career goal. Lebanon Valley followed this with another scoring chance, as Ressler sent a shot over the net at the 50:20 mark. Lancaster Bible responded with its only shot on target 52:23 into the game, which resulted in a save for LVC by goalkeeper Camryn Porter

The Dutchmen and the Chargers proceeded to battle defensively for over 22 minutes, as neither team registered a shot during this stretch. Lebanon Valley then took its final shot of the evening at the 74:54 mark, as Miller sent a shot to the left of the net. This was followed by more dominant defense from both sides, as the next shot wasn't taken until there were fewer than two minutes left on the clock. Lancaster Bible attempted a shot with 1:22 to go, which was blocked by LVC. The Chargers also tallied a shot that went to the left of the net with just four seconds remaining. Ultimately, the Flying Dutchmen maintained their three-goal lead through the end of play, securing the victory.
