Men’s Tennis Sweep Misericordia on Senior Day

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a 7-0 sweep of Misericordia University on Sunday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
 
The Dutchmen (11-10, 5-1 MAC Freedom) swept all nine matches for the second consecutive match heading into the postseason. LVC swept all three doubles matches in under 25 minutes and won all six singles matches in straight sets against the Cougars.
 
Inside the Box
  • All three doubles pairing were the first time each duo has played together in a match this year.
  • Colin Brusse and Jared Hostetter were the first doubles court to finish at number two with a 6-1 victory.
  • Zach Schrader and Michael Schuetz were the next court to finish with a 6-1 victory at number one.
  • Jake Erb and Grant Rowe wrapped up doubles play at number three with a 6-2 win.
  • Brusse earned the first singles point of the match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number three. He improved to 12-7 overall and 4-1 in conference play while winning his fourth consecutive match.
  • Schrader won his third consecutive match at number one with a 6-3, 6-3 victory. The first-year improved to 12-11 on the season and 5-1 in conference matches.
  • Schuetz played his first match of the season at number two and came away with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 victory. He evened his overall record at 9-9 and finished conference play at 5-1 with his fourth straight win.
  • Ethan Luu won 6-1, 6-0 at number four for his third consecutive win. He finished conference play at 4-1 and is 10-6 overall on the season.
  • Vincent Thompson earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at number six for his third win in five matches this season. He is 1-1 against the MAC Freedom
  • Antonio Scaramuzzino won his fourth consecutive match with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at number five.
  • The Dutchmen are on a five-match winning streak heading into the conference tournament.
  • LVC was very strong in singles play during conference matches with a .800 winning percentage at a 28-7 record.
Up Next
The second-seeded Dutchmen will host third-seeded Arcadia University on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. in the MAC Freedom Semifinals at the Shankroff Tennis Center. Top-seeded Stevens Insitutute of Technology will FDU-Florham in the other matchup.
