AMBLER, Pa. – Owen Berry tied a game-high two hits while recording an RBI and a run scored for the Lebanon Valley College Baseball team, as the program dropped a 13-5 contest to Arcadia University on Friday, April 25, at Skip Wilson Field.
Kody Phillips was also one of five players to drive in a run for LVC, hitting his third home run of the year.
The Dutchmen (20-17-1, 12-7 MAC Freedom) opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, taking an early 1-0 lead over the Knights (23-13, 13-7 MAC Freedom). Berry led off the game with a double to right-center field and
Jace Fetterman hit a single to right field, putting runners on the corners.
Logan Brewer then came to the plate with one out and delivered a sacrifice fly to right field, bringing home Berry.
Jaden Click was Lebanon Valley's starting pitcher, and the junior retired the side in order in the bottom of the first by recording a flyout to right fielder
Kenny Palmieri, a groundout to third baseman
Carter Enders, and a strikeout looking.
Arcadia got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second, taking a 3-1 advantage on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch and a two-run double. The Knights then added four runs in the bottom of the third inning, going ahead 7-1 after an RBI single, a wild pitch, and a two-run single. This was followed by Arcadia scoring on a solo home run and an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 9-1 game.
The Flying Dutchmen crossed the plate again in the top of the fifth inning, narrowing the score to 9-2. The club got runners on first and second base on a single to right field by Enders and a walk by
Kenny Palmieri. Berry then hit an RBI single to center field, driving in Enders. The Knights followed this with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, going up 13-2 after an inning that included an RBI groundout and an RBI triple. Lebanon Valley also scored a run in the top of the sixth, making it a 13-3 contest after Phillips drove a solo home run over the left-center field fence.
Jordy Polanco then entered the game to pitch for the Dutchmen in the bottom of the sixth, posting a scoreless frame after recording a flyout to center fielder
Spencer Butz and a flyout to Palmieri in right field to strand a runner at second base. In the bottom of the seventh inning,
Sam Dozier came out of the bullpen for LVC and pitched a 1-2-3 frame with a flyout to Palmieri in right, a flyout to Butz in center field, and a foul out to Brewer at first base.
Jeremy Tuz came in to pitch for Lebanon Valley in the bottom of the eighth and retired the Knights in order, logging two groundouts to second baseman
Kameron Wetzel and a strikeout looking. The Dutchmen continued to compete in the batter's box as the game went into the top of the ninth inning, plating two runs to advance the score to 13-5. Pinch-hitter
Adam Jirik led off the frame with a single up the middle and scored on
Joey Santora's RBI double down the left-field line.
Devin Kreger followed this with an RBI double to left-center field, knocking in Santora. Arcadia then proceeded to maintain this lead through the end of the contest.

Lebanon Valley will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, when the program will close out the regular season by hosting Arcadia in a doubleheader on Senior Day at McGill Field. The first matchup is scheduled to begin at noon.
