Men’s Tennis Earns 5-2 Win over Baruch

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Tennis team ended a busy weekend with a 5-2 victory over Baruch College on Sunday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
 
The Dutchmen (7-10) won two of the three doubles courts to earn the first point of the match. The Bearcats (7-2) won two of the first three singles matches to tie the score up at two. LVC finished the match strong by winning the back three singles matches in straight sets to earn their third consecutive non-conference win.
 
Inside the Box
  • Ethan Luu and Michael Schuetz were the first doubles court to finish at number two with a 6-1 victory. They improve to 6-4 on the season and have won the last two matches when paired together.
  • Vincent Thompson and Antonio Scaramuzzino clinched the doubles point with a thrilling 7-5 victory at number three in a match they were down 5-3. This was the first time the duo has played together in a match.
  • Schuetz gave the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number three singles. He was the first singles match to finish as he picked up his fifth win of the season.
  • Colin Brusse gave LVC a 3-2 lead with a 7-5, 6-0 victory at number four singles. He improved to 9-7 with the win including a 6-4 mark at number four.
  • Jared Hostetter clinched the match at number six singles as he finished right after Brusse with a 6-1, 6-2 win. He has won his last two matches.
  • Luu rallied from an early hole for a 76 (7-3), 6-2 victory at number five singles. He is now 7-6 on the season including a 5-5 mark at number five.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will return to conference action on Tuesday with a big road match at King's College. First serves are scheduled for 3 p.m. at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre against the Monarchs.
