Fidler Wins Ursinus Spring Classic

LIMERICK, Pa. – Jillian Fidler topped the field of 28 and Emma Dissinger finished second to highlight a strong day of action for the Lebanon Valley Women's Golf team at the Ursinus Spring Classic on Thursday at the Turtle Creek Golf Course in Limerick.
 
The Dutchmen finished second as a team in the field of five with a score of 361. Arcadia University won with a 355 while host Ursinus College was third with a 396. Fidler won with a season-low 77 for her first collegiate victory while Dissinger was right behind her in second with a 78. Stockton University's Elenora Byrne finished third with an 81. The Dutchmen have now finished second at two invitationals this season.
 
Inside the Results
  • Fidler recorded her lowest round of the year with a +1 37 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine of the par-72 course. The sophomore had 11 pars on the day and birdied the par-three third hole. This is the second event this year Fidler had the lowest score at an event but her first medalist honor after losing a tiebreaker at the Lions Invitational in the fall.
  • Dissinger carded a 78 to finish second for her seventh Top 5 finish of the season. She started strong with a birdie on the par-four first hole and finished with 12 pars including seven straight from hole three to hole nine. Dissinger had a 37 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine.
  • Lillian Gleeson finished 18th with a 101. She carded a 47 on the front nine holes and a 54 on the back nine holes. Gleeson was three strokes off her season-low of 98and was one stroke better than her round at Turtle Creek in the fall.
  • Alexa Pridham carded a 105 to finish 20th. She had a 48 on the front nine and a 57 on the back nine with one par. Pridham also had a 105 at Turtle Creek in the fall.
  • Olivia Bartal had a 110 to finish 22nd. She recorded a par on one hole with a 56 on the front nine and a 54 on the back nine holes.

LVC is scheduled to compete on Saturday at the Millersville Invitational in Quarryville at the Tanglewood Manor Golf Course.
