HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Tennis team wrapped up a week of play in Hilton Head, S.C. on Thursday morning with a 7-0 defeat to John Carroll University at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.
The Dutchmen battled tough against the Blue Streaks but were held without a team point for the third consecutive match against strong competition. Two of the singles matches went three sets.
Inside the Results
- Jake Erb and Zach Schrader needed a tiebreaker to decide their match at number one doubles. The Blue Streaks won the tie-breaking set 7-4 to take the match 7-6.
- Ethan Lee and Vincent Thompson had a close match at number two doubles before falling 7-5.
- Erb won the first set of his number two singles match 7-5. His opponent rallied to win the second set 6-3 and then won the third set tiebreaker 10-3.
- Luu forced a third set at number three singles after dropping the first set 6-2. Lee won the second set 6-3 but his opponent took the tiebreaker 10-5.
- Jared Hostetter played a tight second set at number four singles but was defeated 6-2, 7-5.
Up Next
LVC will return to Pennsylvania and have a week off before taking on Eastern University next Thursday in St. Davids. First serves are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. against the Eagles.
