DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College Baseball team closed out its series sweep of Delaware Valley University with a dominant 21-4 victory and a commanding 15-4 run-rule win in seven innings during its doubleheader on Saturday, March 29, at Frank Wolfgang Field. Jace Fetterman played an integral role in the sweep by hitting a home run, driving in three runs, and scoring four runs. Duncan Weir also provided key contributions by leading LVC with four RBIs while scoring three runs.
Game One
The Dutchmen (9-13-1, 4-4 MAC Freedom) struck first in the top of the first inning, taking an early 1-0 lead over the Aggies (2-19, 0-7 MAC Freedom). Owen Berry led off the game with a single to left field and moved into scoring position by stealing second base. Berry came home to score later in the frame on a wild pitch. Delaware Valley responded with a two-run single in the bottom half of the first, taking a 2-1 advantage. Starting pitcher Trey Dianna then delivered a scoreless bottom of the second for Lebanon Valley, retiring the side in order with a popout to Dylan Mennillo at second base, a groundout to Berry at shortstop, and a strikeout swinging.
The Flying Dutchmen crossed the plate three times in the top of the third inning, going up 4-2. Mennillo started the rally by hitting a one-out single to right field and stealing second base before Jace Fetterman and Spencer Butz loaded the bases by drawing a walk each. This was followed by Logan Brewer hitting a ball to center field and reaching on an error, allowing Mennillo, Fetterman, and Butz to score. Dianna then blanked the opposition in the bottom of the third inning, stranding a runner on third base with a lineout to Kody Phillips in left field and a groundout to Carter Enders at third base.
Dianna also posted a zero for LVC in the bottom of the fourth, registering a strikeout swinging, a groundout to third base, and a lineout to second base. Dianna then pitched another shutout frame for the Dutchmen in the bottom half of the fifth, notching the final two outs with a double play on a grounder to third.
Lebanon Valley put on an offensive clinic in the top of the sixth inning with 17 runs, extending their lead to 21-2 over Delaware Valley. Berry came to the plate with the bases loaded with no outs and hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Enders. Butz later hit a two-run double to right-center field, knocking in Weir and Mennillo. Brewer followed this with an RBI single to shortstop, plating Fetterman. Joey Santora kept things going with a two-run double down the left-field line, driving in Butz and Brewer. Phillips then scored on a wild pitch before Weir's two-run single through the right side brought home Santora and Enders.
Berry and Adam Jirik tacked on more runs for Lebanon Valley in the sixth by hitting an RBI single to center field each, allowing Weir and Justin Ranker to cross the dish, respectively. Landon Sexton then drew a bases-loaded walk to score Berry before Jirik came home on a wild pitch. Ryan Schulman followed this by walking with the bases full to plate Parker Tarnoci before Kameron Wetzel was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Sexton. LVC tallied its final two runs of the inning when Weir reached on an error, allowing Schulman and Wetzel to come home and make it a 21-2 game.
The Aggies hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom of the sixth inning, advancing the score to 21-3. Delaware Valley also plated a run on an RBI double to right field in the bottom of the seventh, making it a 21-4 contest. Jaden Click then closed out the dominant victory for the Dutchmen with a popout to Ranker at second base, a flyout to Cole Kingsbury in center field, and a groundout that the junior pitcher fielded.

Game Two
Hunter Williams started on the mound for Lebanon Valley (10-13-1, 5-4 MAC Freedom) and retired Delaware Valley (2-20, 0-8 MAC Freedom) in order in the bottom of the first inning, registering a flyout to Weir in right field and a strikeout swinging before fielding a groundout himself. The Dutchmen opened the scoring in the top of the second inning, taking an early 2-0 lead. Tyler Satterfield and Enders got things started with one-out singles up the middle, and the runners later advanced to second and third base on a groundout. Satterfield then scored on a wild pitch before Mennillo's RBI single knocked in Enders.
Williams followed this with another 1-2-3 inning for LVC in the bottom of the second, recording a flyout to Butz in center field, a groundout to Mennillo at second base, and a groundout the pitcher fielded himself. Lebanon Valley then tacked on another run in the top of the third inning, going up 3-0. Berry hit a single to left field before crossing the plate on Fetterman's RBI single to right field, extending the team's advantage. Williams then continued his strong start in the bottom of the third, tallying a strikeout swinging and two groundouts to Berry at shortstop.
The Flying Dutchmen tacked on three more runs in the top of the fourth inning, taking a commanding 6-0 lead over the Aggies. The club got runners on second and third base after Satterfield hit a single up the middle, Enders singled to left field, and Weir came through with a successful sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher. Mennillo then delivered a two-run single up the middle, driving in Satterfield and Enders. Fetterman followed this with an RBI double down the right-field line, plating Mennillo. Williams also kept his dominant outing going in the bottom half of the fourth, holding the opposition scoreless with a strikeout swinging, a groundout to second base, and a strikeout looking.
Lebanon Valley's lineup delivered another big inning in the top of the fifth, plating eight runs to go up 14-0. Satterfield got the scoring started with an RBI double down the left-field line, driving in Brewer. Weir later hit a two-run double to center field, bringing home Phillips and Satterfield. Berry then hit a two-out RBI single through the left side, knocking in Weir. Berry added another run on a wild pitch before Brewer's two-run double to right field scored Fetterman and Butz. Phillips capped off the key frame for LVC with an RBI double to left-center field, bringing in Brewer. Delaware Valley countered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, making it a 14-4 contest on a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded and a three-run triple to right field.
Williams delivered another zero for the Dutchmen in the bottom of the sixth inning, registering the final out of the frame with a flyout to Weir in right field. Lebanon Valley followed this by adding an insurance run in the top of the seventh with a solo home run to right by Fetterman, extending its lead to 15-4. Malachi Duka then came out of the bullpen in the bottom of the seventh and secured LVC's run-rule win by striking out the side in order.
