WASHINGTON, D.C. – Zach Schrader won his second consecutive match at number one singles to earn the lone team point for the Lebanon Valley Men's Tennis team on Sunday in a 6-1 defeat at Catholic University of America.
The host Cardinals (11-1) won two of the three doubles matches by scores of 6-2 and five of the six singles matches. LVC (3-9) won at number two doubles and number one singles. The Dutchmen sent one of the singles matches to three sets.
Inside the Box
- Michael Schuetz and Colin Brusse earned a 6-2 victory at number two doubles to even their season record at 1-1 when playing together.
- Schrader earned his second impressive singles victory of the week at the top flight with a 6-1, 7-5 win. He improved to 6-8 on the season and has won three of the last four since coming back from Hilton Head.
- Jared Hostetter went three sets at number six singles in a close match with Charlie Robbins, the son of LVC Head Coach Jeff Robbins. Robbins came away with a 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) victory over Hostetter.
- Ethan Luu dropped a pair of close sets at number five singles by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).
- Schuetz had a close first set before dropping a 6-4, 6-1 decision at number three singles.

The Dutchmen will be back in action on Wednesday with a short trip to Reading. LVC will take on Albright College starting at 3:30 p.m.
