HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Tennis team began the 2025 spring season with a split of two matches on Sunday down in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Dutchmen began the day with a 5-2 victory over St. John Fisher University before falling 7-0 to Clark University in the afternoon.
The Dutchmen (2-4) won the doubles point against SJF by taking courts one and three. Five of the six singles matches went three sets with the Dutchmen winning three of them. LVC battled tough against a very good Clark team in the afternoon but were unable to win any matches.
Inside the Results
- Zach Schrader and Ethan Luu won at number one doubles by a score of 6-1 to finish first in the match against the Cardinals.
- Jared Hostetter and Antonio Scaramuzzino won a number three doubles 6-3 to give the Dutchmen the advantage in doubles.
- Schrader went 1-1 at number one singles on the day. He defeated his opponent from St. John Fisher 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-3).
- Colin Brusse also went 1-1 in singles at number four. He started the day with a 6-1, 6-0 victory to give the Dutchmen a 3-2 lead over the Cardinals.
- Luu clinched the match victory at number five in his only singles match of the day. The sophomore won his three-setter 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-1). He is now 3-0 on the year.
- Vincent Thompson won his first collegiate match at number six singles by a score of 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-2).
Up Next
The Dutchmen will have a couple of days off in Hilton Head before returning to action on Wednesday with a 1 p.m. match against Roanoke College at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort.
