Bollinger Records Hat Trick Against Susquehanna

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley Men's Lacrosse attacker Jake Bollinger recorded his third hat trick of the season and finished with four points in a 19-8 defeat to visiting Susquehanna University on Wednesday afternoon at Arnold Field.

Susquehanna (6-1) scored in the first minute of the game to take an early lead. The Dutchmen (3-4) and Rive Hawks played a defensive battle over the next 10 minutes as neither team was able to score and it remained 1-0. Susquehanna ended the scoreless streak with three quick goals in a span of a couple of minutes to go up 4-0. Sheadan Makosy got LVC on the board with 16 seconds left as he picked off a pass on a clear attempt and then fired the ball down field into an empty net for his first goal of the season.

The River Hawks were able to expand their lead to 10-1 in the second quarter with six unanswered goals on 15 shots. The Dutchmen took five shots in the period putting three on net. All three of LVC's shots on goal came early in the quarter as the Dutchmen attempted to cut into the deficit. LVC was five-for-five on clears during the quarter and picked up eight ground balls while winning three of the seven faceoffs.

Susquehanna started the second half with a goal, but LVC responded right back as Ethan Keenan scored his 11th goal of the season. The River Hawks countered with a pair of scores to increase the advantage to 13-2. Keenan added a second goal off a great pass from Trey Ralston before Susquehanna added another goal. John Lux scored his eighth goal of the year with five minutes to go in the quarter to bring the deficit to 14-4. The River Hawks would score twice before Bollinger tallied his first goal of the game with 12 seconds remaining in the quarter.

Bollinger completed his hat trick with the first two goals of the fourth quarter to start a rally for the Dutchmen. Rowan Myers cut the lead down to eight at 16-8 with his fourth goal of the season with eight minutes left off an assist by Bollinger.
