HERSHEY, Pa. – Seven players recorded points for the Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team, powering the program's 6-2 victory over Stevenson University on Senior Night on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Hersheypark Arena.
Anna Dale led the way for the Flying Dutchmen with a hat trick and an assist during the squad's final home game of the regular season.
Lebanon Valley celebrated its three seniors before the contest, honoring
Cheyenne Wilk,
Erin Yorke, and
Alexis Oukes. The program also recognized graduate student
Jess Dawe during the pregame ceremony.
The Dutchmen (16-6-1, 13-5-1 MAC) and the Mustangs (8-14-1, 6-12-1 MAC) went back and forth early in the game, as neither team put a shot on goal for four minutes at the start. LVC delivered a strong defensive effort during this stretch, as
Norah McCauliffe and Dale each blocked a shot within 44 seconds during the fourth minute when the program was on a penalty kill. Dale followed this by recording two shots that were saved within three seconds in the fifth minute, when the squad was short-handed. Goaltender
Mia Frisoni then posted two saves within 13 seconds in the fifth minute before Yorke and McCauliffe each logged a block within 22 seconds in the sixth minute.
Stevenson began a power play during the seventh minute of the first period, and Frisoni came through with a pair of stops within 36 seconds in the eighth minute during the penalty kill. While the opposition was on this power play, Dawe and
Tiffany Anderson each took a shot that was saved within 16 seconds in the ninth minute. The Mustangs then opened the scoring 10:00 into the first period, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Maggie Dean. Lebanon Valley's offense later went on a power play that started in the 11
th minute, and the team registered four shots on goal over the next two minutes.
Leela Nemani and
Maeghan Howson created some chances during this stretch, tallying an attempt each within nine seconds in the 13
th minute.
The Flying Dutchmen found the net 15:35 into the first, tying the game at 1-1. The program evened the score on a shot into the back of the net by Dale, courtesy of assists by McCauliffe and
Julia Schafer. Defensively, Lebanon Valley then held Stevenson to just two shots on goal during the remaining minutes of the opening period. Frisoni posted saves on both of these tries at the 17:16 and 17:27 marks.
The Dutchmen went ahead 3:39 into the second period, taking a 2-1 advantage on a goal by
Tiffany Anderson after an assist by Dale. The Mustangs countered with a shot on goal at the 4:34 mark, which resulted in a save by Frisoni. Lebanon Valley scored again 5:07 into the second, making it a 3-1 game. The squad went up by two when
Sky Campanile got the puck past the goaltender, following an assist by Yorke. The Flying Dutchmen put another point on the board just 51 seconds later, extending their lead to 4-1 on Dale's second goal of the night, courtesy of an assist by Anderson.
Frisoni kept battling for Lebanon Valley as the second period progressed, as the goaltender made a pair of saves within 18 seconds in the eighth minute. The Dutchmen later scored their fifth goal 10:17 into the second, taking a 5-1 lead. It took just 14 seconds into the program's power play for Dale to net her third goal of the evening, following assists by Yorke and
Addison Taylert. Frisoni then proceeded to maintain the program's advantage during the rest of the second period, making four more saves during the frame. The goaltender posted one of these stops during a penalty kill and made two saves within five seconds in the 17
th minute.
The Flying Dutchmen continued to battle defensively when the third period got underway, as Frisoni made five saves in the first 6:02 of the frame, including two during a penalty kill. During this penalty kill, McCauliffe, Yorke, Dawe, and Wilk each had a block. The Dutchmen then tacked on an insurance point 7:11 into the third period, going ahead 6-1. The team took a five-goal lead on a shot into the net by Howson for an unassisted goal.
Lebanon Valley's defense followed this by keeping the opposition from putting a shot on goal for over six minutes, until Frisoni saved an attempt by Stevenson at the 13:52 mark. The goaltender also delivered a stop 15:10 into the third. The Mustangs then scored again 16:37 into the final period, making it a 6-2 game on a goal by Franki Cappello. Frisoni proceeded to record four more saves during the remainder of the contest, including three in the 18
th minute. Ultimately, the Dutchmen preserved their 6-2 lead through the end of the game.

- Lebanon Valley has now secured the third seed in the MAC Championship.
- Dale netted her Division III-leading 23rd, 24th, and 25th goals of the season, marking her third game with three or more goals during the campaign. The sophomore also assisted Anderson's goal, helping bring her conference-leading points total to 38 this winter. Dale now has 49 career points, which sets the program record. This record was previously held by Abby Radcliffe, who had 45 career points.
- Anderson scored her eighth goal of the campaign. The junior also recorded her team-leading 15th assist of the winter on Dale's second goal.
- Campanile found the net for the seventh time this season, marking her third game-winner.
- Howson recorded her eighth goal of the winter.
- McCauliffe and Schafer dished out assists on Dale's first goal.
- Taylert had an assist on Dale's third goal.
- Yorke was credited with assists on Campanile's goal and Dale's third goal, providing the senior with a game-high two assists. Yorke also had two blocks on the defensive end.
- Lebanon Valley outshot Stevenson 35-29.
- Dale took a game-high nine shots on goal.
- Frisoni made 27 saves during the victory.
- The Dutchmen blocked 13 shots on the defensive end.
- McCauliffe also posted a game-high five blocks, which ties a career-high.
- LVC was successful on all four penalty kills.
- Lebanon Valley had a 34-22 advantage in faceoff victories.
- Nemani posted a game-high and season-high 15 faceoff wins.
