HERSHEY, Pa. – Anna Dale recorded five points on four goals and an assist, leading the Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team to a dominant 6-1 victory over Neumann University on Friday, Feb. 14, at Hersheypark Arena. The program also received contributions from several players during the win, as seven Flying Dutchmen tallied points.
The Dutchmen (15-6-1, 12-5-1 MAC) struck first just 2:27 into the first period, taking an early 1-0 lead over the Knights (4-15-3, 3-13-3 MAC). The program got on the board when Dale netted a goal, courtesy of assists by
Addison Taylert and
Erin Yorke. Lebanon Valley's defense was also productive during the opening frame, as
Norah McCauliffe blocked a shot at the 5:00 mark while the squad kept the opposition from putting a shot on goal for over eight minutes. Goaltender
Lacy Bigelow worked to hold Neumann in check as well, making her first three saves for LVC within seven seconds in the ninth minute.
The Flying Dutchmen also kept generating offensive opportunities as the first period progressed, as
Cheyenne Wilk took a shot that was saved 11:19 into the frame. Yorke and Taylert followed this by tallying an attempt each within 12 seconds in the 13
th minute while LVC was on a power play. Yorke registered a pair of shots on goal within 30 seconds in the 17
th minute as well. Neumann then scored 17:34 into the first, tying the game at 1-1 on a goal by Adriana O'Heron. The Knights later went on a power play that began in the 19
th minute, and Bigelow responded with an important stop at the 18:33 mark while Lebanon Valley was on the penalty kill.
Neumann created another scoring chance 33 seconds into the second period, and Bigelow came through with the save for LVC. The Dutchmen also continued to send the puck toward the goalie, logging seven shots on goal over the next two minutes. Lebanon Valley found the net again 3:53 into the second, taking a 2-1 advantage. The team went back ahead on a goal by
Chelly Wolff after an assist by
Maeghan Howson. The Knights later countered with some attempts, and the Flying Dutchmen responded defensively with a block by Yorke and a save by Bigelow within five seconds in the eighth minute.
Lebanon Valley put another tally on the scoreboard 11:22 into the second, making it a 3-1 game. The squad went up by two when Dale sent the puck into the left side of the net for her second goal of the night, following an assist by
Tiffany Anderson. The Dutchmen remained aggressive offensively as the frame went on, registering three shots over the next 2:18, including a try by Yorke during a power play. Back on the defensive end, Bigelow then delivered a pair of saves for LVC within 15 seconds in the 17
th minute. Wilk and Yorke contributed to the program's defensive efforts as well, blocking a shot attempt each within six seconds in the 19
th minute during a power play for Neumann.
The Flying Dutchmen added another point just 12 seconds into the third period, taking a 4-1 lead over the Knights. The team extended its advantage on Dale's third goal of the contest after another assist by Taylert. The also squad kept taking shots as the frame progressed, registering five more attempts on goal over the next 6:56, including a try by
Leela Nemani during a power play. Lebanon Valley then found the next again 7:09 into the third, advancing the score to 5-1 on a goal by Howson. Dale dished out the assist on the program's fifth goal.
The Dutchmen also continued their strong defensive effort as the third period went on, as Bigelow posted a stop at the 7:15 mark before McCauliffe blocked a shot attempt by Neumann at the 11:19 mark. Bigelow later delivered another save for LVC 13:08 into the frame. Lebanon Valley then tacked on an insurance point 16:17 into the third, extending its lead to 6-1. The program went ahead by five when Dale scored a power-play goal, courtesy of assists by Anderson and
Sky Campanile. This marked Dale's fourth goal of the evening. The Flying Dutchmen proceeded to battle defensively during the remainder of the contest, as
Jess Dawe blocked a shot 16:47 into the frame when the squad was on a penalty kill. Bigelow then posted her 11
th and final save of the night with just 1:10 left, helping secure LVC's 6-1 win.

- Dale scored her MAC-leading 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd goals of the season to break the conference's single-season record for goals. The sophomore currently leads the nation in goals as well. Dale also recorded an assist on Howson's goal, bringing her conference-leading points total to 34 this winter. The sophomore's career-high five-point effort tied the program record for points in a game, matching Mallory Burdick's five points against Hilbert College on Oct. 29, 2022. Dale's four goals also tied a career-high, matching her total in the 9-0 victory over Hilbert on Jan. 4. This marks the program's single-game record, which was originally set by Nikki Lloyd '18 on Nov. 13, 2016, against Post University. Additionally, Dale now has 45 career points, tying the program record that was originally set by Abby Radcliffe.
- Howson scored her seventh goal of the campaign and dished out the assist on Wolff's goal.
- Wolff found the net for the third time this winter. This also marks her first career game-winner.
- Anderson registered her team-leading 13th and 14th assists of the season on Dale's second and fourth goals, respectively.
- Taylert assisted Dale's first and third goals.
- Yorke was also credited with an assist on Dale's first goal.
- Campanile had an assist on Dale's fourth goal.
- Lebanon Valley outshot Neumann 38-12.
- Dale took a game-high eight shots.
- Bigelow made 11 saves during her eighth victory of the campaign, which sets a program single-season record.
- The Flying Dutchmen blocked eight shots on the defensive end.
- McCauliffe and Yorke tied a game-high two blocks.
