HERSHEY, Pa. – Seven players recorded at least one point for the Lebanon Valley College women's ice hockey team, fueling the program's important 4-3 victory over Arcadia University on Friday, Dec. 5, at Hersheypark Arena.
LVC's offense was led by
Tiffany Anderson, who recorded a game-high three points with a goal and two assists.
Sky Campanile also scored a goal in the first period, while
Addison Taylert and
Anna Dale each found the net in the second frame. Dale's goal proved to be the game-winner.
The Dutchmen (9-2-0, 7-2-0 MAC) were productive defensively early in the contest, as goaltender
Mia Frisoni made seven saves while
Brysha Schmidt,
Norah McCauliffe, and
Rhiannon Price each blocked a shot by the Knights (7-2-2, 5-1-1 MAC) within the first 7:12. Lebanon Valley then generated a pair of offensive opportunities within 27 seconds in the 10th minute, as
Abby Mak put a shot on goal that was saved while the team had a 4-on-3 advantage and Anderson's attempt was saved when the squad had a 5-on-3 advantage. Arcadia countered with some scoring chances, but LVC's defense responded with a block by Campanile at the 11:49 mark before Frisoni made a save and Dale had a block within eight seconds in the 13th minute. Taylert then put a shot on target for the Dutchmen at the 12:50 mark, which was saved. Back on the defensive end, Frisoni posted more important stops for Lebanon Valley at the 15:14 and 17:29 marks. The Flying Dutchmen later found the net again with one minute left in the first period, taking a 2-0 advantage. The team went up by two when Campanile sent the puck into the back of the net for a goal, following an assist by
Mallory Burdick.
The programs battled defensively at the beginning of the second period, as each program put a shot on goal that was saved within the first 4:03 of the frame. Lebanon Valley then began a power play in the sixth minute, and Pennino and
McKayla Romano each took a shot that was saved within 14 seconds in the eighth minute. This was followed by Frisoni making more saves for LVC at the 7:50 and 8:32 marks. The Dutchmen later went on a power play in the 10th minute, and the team put four shots on goal while it had a 5-on-4 advantage. During this stretch, Dale took two shots while Romano and
Leela Nemani each registered an attempt.
The Flying Dutchmen started another power play in the 12th minute of the second period and capitalized on this opportunity, extending their lead to 3-0 at the 11:56 mark. The squad scored again when Taylert found the net for a power-play goal, after assists by Mak and Anderson. Frisoni kept battling as the second frame went on, logging four more saves over the next 2:15. Lebanon Valley then added a tally 15:33 into the second, going up 4-0. The team's fourth goal came when Dale sent a shot into the back of the net for a goal, courtesy of an assist by Taylert. Defensively, Frisoni proceeded to make four more saves during the remaining minutes of the second period. The goaltender's last stop of the frame was recorded with just 12 seconds to go.
Lebanon Valley and Arcadia traded shots at the start of the third period, as each squad had three attempts saved during the first 5:02. The Knights also began a power play in the fifth minute, and LVC's defense limited the opposition to one shot attempt that was blocked by Pennino during this stretch. Frisoni continued her strong effort as the frame progressed, delivering five saves for the Dutchmen over the next 3:06. Arcadia then got on the board 9:16 into the third, narrowing the score to 4-1 with a goal by Carys Jelley.
LVC kept tallying shots as the third period went on, registering six attempts that were saved over the next 9:06. The program took three of these shots during a power play that began in 17th minute, as Schmidt, Mak, and Pennino each recorded a try. The Knights then scored on a goal by Phoebe Roberts at the 19:22.9 mark and a goal by Chloe Makinson at the 19:52 mark, making it a 4-3 contest. The Dutchmen went on to maintain their lead through the end of play, securing the victory.

- Anderson recorded a game-high three points to match a season-high, scoring her sixth goal of the year while tying a game-high and career-high two assists. The senior also won a game-high 16 faceoffs.
- Dale scored her seventh goal of the season, which marked her team-leading fourth game-winner of the campaign. The junior also tied a game-high five shots on goal. Defensively, Dale blocked two shots.
- Taylert logged two points with her team-leading eighth goal of the season and an assist on Dale's game-winning goal.
