GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Lebanon Valley senior
Jake Erb won his second consecutive singles match for the men's tennis team in a hard-fought 6-1 defeat at Gettysburg College on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bullets won all three doubles matches, needing a tiebreaker at number three to earn the sweep. LVC won the first set in three of the singles matches, but Gettysburg rallied to win two of those matches in three sets. Erb gave the Dutchmen their lone point in the match at number four singles.
Inside the Results
- Erb won his singles match 6-2, 6-2 to improve to 2-1 in dual matches this year.
- Jesse Beck won his first set 6-1 at number two singles before his opponent rallied to win the next two sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
- Zach Schrader also won his first set at number one singles by a score of 6-3. His opponent took a close second set 6-4 and then won the third set 6-2.
- Mason Dissinger nearly forced a third set at number five singles in a 6-0, 6-4 defeat. Dissinger led for most of the set before his opponent rallied to win the final three points.
- Dissinger and Schrader dropped their number three doubles match 7-6 (7-3). The duo led early in the match before their opponents rallied to earn a tiebreak win.
- Beck and Adam Warren played a close match at number one doubles in a 6-4 defeat.

The Dutchmen will be off for 10 days and will return to action on Oct 11 for a Homecoming match against Allegheny College. First serve against the Gators is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
