REISTERSTOWN, Md. – Addison Taylert,
Leela Nemani, and
Erin Yorke each netted a goal for the Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team during the first period, helping fuel the program's 5-0 victory over Stevenson University on Friday, Jan. 24 at the Reisterstown Sportsplex. Goaltender
Mia Frisoni also played an integral role in LVC's fourth straight win, making 24 saves during the squad's eighth shutout of the season. The team picked up its 12
th victory of the campaign as well, tying a program record.
The Mustangs (5-11-1, 3-9-1 MAC) generated some offensive opportunities early in the first period, but goaltender
Mia Frisoni responded with three saves for the Dutchmen (12-4-1, 9-3-1 MAC) during the opening 1:41. Lebanon Valley then went on a power play that began in the fourth minute and tallied five shots on goal over the next two minutes. Nemani contributed to these efforts, accounting for two of the attempts. This was followed by Stevenson going on a power play in the sixth minute and Frisoni coming through with saves at the 6:07 and 6:20 marks during a successful LVC penalty kill.
Lebanon Valley opened the scoring 9:04 into the first period, taking a 1-0 lead over Stevenson. The program got on the board when Taylert sent a shot into the back of the net, courtesy of an assist by
Tiffany Anderson. The Dutchmen also remained productive defensively as the frame progressed, as
Maeghan Howson blocked a shot attempt at the 13:13 mark before Frisoni logged another save nine seconds later.
The Flying Dutchmen found the net again 14:33 into the period, taking a 2-0 advantage. The squad went ahead by two on a goal by Nemani, following assists by
Sky Campanile and
Laura Radford. Lebanon Valley then added another tally less than a minute later, extending their lead to 3-0 at the 15:15 mark. The team's offensive clinic continued with a power-play goal by Yorke after assists by Anderson and
Anna Dale. The programs proceeded to go back and forth through the remainder of the first period. The Mustangs put a shot on goal during a power play with 1:24 left, which resulted in Frisoni's seventh save for LVC.
Frisoni remained dominant when the second period got underway, delivering four saves for Lebanon Valley during the first three minutes of the frame. The goaltender made two of these stops while the program was on the penalty kill, registering important saves at the 2:12 and 2:59 marks. The Dutchmen also kept working to create scoring chances, as Howson later took a shot that was saved 10:06 into the frame before Campanile's try was saved at the 11:09 mark. The Dutchmen scored again 11:51 into the second, going up 4-0 on a power-play goal by
Cheyenne Wilk.
Alex Franke and
Norah McCauliffe dished out the assists on the program's fourth goal of the evening.
The Mustangs later countered with some opportunities, and Frisoni came through with a save at the 13:20 mark before recording four stops within 17 seconds in the 17
th minute. Lebanon Valley's offense followed this with a pair of shots on goal, as Campanile and Radford each had an attempt saved within a four-second stretch that began at the end of minute 17. LVC's defense then closed out the second period with a save by Frisoni at the 17:53 mark and a block by
Chelly Wolff with 26 seconds to go.
The Dutchmen sent the puck toward the net early in the third period, as Taylert put a shot on goal that was saved 33 seconds into the frame. Lebanon Valley's defense also continued to hold the opposition in check, as Frisoni delivered more saves at the 4:12, 7:14, and 8:11 marks. The goaltender then made another stop 10:38 into the third, and McCauliffe blocked a shot attempt at the 11:01 mark. The Flying Dutchmen kept tallying shots as the frame went on as well, as Dale had three attempts saved within 13 seconds in the 14
th minute.
Stevenson followed this with a couple of shots on goal, and Frisoni made saves on both tries within 11 seconds in the 16
th minute. Franke also made an impact on the defensive end, blocking a shot for LVC at the 18:02 mark. Lebanon Valley then added an insurance point with 38.2 seconds remaining, prompting 5-0 to be the final score. Campanile scored the program's fifth goal of the night, courtesy of assists by Howson and Wilk.

- This marks Lebanon Valley's 12th victory of the campaign, tying the 2022-23 team for the program's most wins in a season. The victory also extends the squad's winning streak to four games.
- Taylert scored her second goal of the season, which also marked the first-year's first career game-winner.

- Wilk scored her fifth goal of the season. The senior also had an assist on Campanile's goal. The two-point effort brings Wilk's career total to 30.

- Anderson dished out assists on Taylert's goal and the goal by Yorke, bringing her season total to 11. The junior's 11 assists lead the team and tie the single-season program record, which was originally set by Katrina Strauts during the 2022-23 season. The two assists also provide Anderson with 30 career points.
- Radford tallied an assist on Nemani's goal.
- Dale registered an assist on Yorke's goal, marking the sophomore's conference-leading 24th point of the campaign. This also sets the program record for points in a season.
- Franke and McCauliffe were credited with assists on the goal by Wilk.
- Howson logged the primary assist on Campanile's goal.
- The Dutchmen outshot the Mustangs 34-24.
- Dale took a game-high eight shots on goal.
- Frisoni made 24 saves during her fourth shutout of the season, which tied the program record for shutouts in a campaign. The goaltender matched Lacy Bigelow's total this year and Olivia Magneson's total during the 2022-23 season. Lebanon Valley has posted eight shutouts during the campaign, which leads the nation and is a program record.
- Defensively, the Flying Dutchmen blocked nine shots.
- McCauliffe posted a game-high three blocks.
- LVC was successful on all five penalty kills.
- Lebanon Valley had a 29-22 advantage in faceoff victories.
- Anderson also tallied a game-high 11 faceoff wins.
