ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Swimming teams celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Arnold Sports Center with a sweep of Hood College. The men's team was victorious 96-82 while the women's team won 98-88. Prior to the meet LVC honored the program's 11 seniors who were swimming in their final home meet.
Inside the Results
- Both of the 200-meter relay teams finished second to begin the meet. The women's squad of Rachel Gibson, Lily McNutt, Noryan Mitchell, and Natalie Bourne finished with a time of 2:24.17. The men's team of Joe Beidler, Zack Fischer, Roman Schelhorn, and Connor Hirons touched the wall in 2:11.67.
- Rachel King and Owen Fastrich were the only swimmers in the 800-meter freestyle as Fastrich finished in 9:53.97 and King swam 12:07.49.
- Sierra Young won the 200-meter freestyle by six seconds with a time of 2:30.87. Justin Kopp was third in the men's heat at 2:34.81.
- Jordyn Grossman picked up another win in the 50-meter freestyle winning by nearly four seconds with a time of 28.56 seconds. Gibson was second in 32.11 seconds. The men had two of the top three as Josh Varner touched second in 26.91 seconds and Schelhorn was third with a time of 28.02 seconds.
- Fastrich won the men's 200-meter IM with a time of 2:31.92 while Brian Dym was third in 2:35.14. Marina Weidman was second in the women's heat with a time of 2:49.38.
- Weidman came right back after a break and finished second in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:21.46. Varner and Kopp swam times of 1:10.63 and 1:12.30 to finish second and third in the men's heat.
- Grossman won her second of three races on the day in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:06.07. She has swept both races in each meet during 2025. Mitchell was third in 1:10.15. Eddie McClain finished second for the men with a time of 1:10.01. Hirons was third in 1:12.48.
- Young had a time of 1:17.26 to finish second in the 100-meter backstroke. Caleb Sikalis was the only one in the men's race and touched the wall in 1:34.01.
- McNutt earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 5:47.99. Fastrich was also second in the men's heat at 4:44.99.
- King won the last individual event of the meet with a time of 1:28.82 in the 100-meter breaststroke. Karly Kile was second in 1:30.92. Fischer finished second for the men in 1:23.75 while Tyler Singer was third in 1:29.86.
- Jana Shoffner, Weidman, Young, and Grossman won the 200-meter freestyle relay in 2:00.84. The men's squad of Dym, Varner, Kopp, and Singer also won in 1:53.30.
Up Next
The Dutchmen are scheduled to head to Huntingdon tomorrow afternoon to face Juniata College. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m.
