Campanile and Dale Lead Dutchmen Women’s Ice Hockey to Victory at King’s

PITTSTON, Pa. – Sky Campanile and Anna Dale both found the net twice for the Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team, leading the program to a 4-0 victory over King's College on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Revolution Ice Centre. Dale's two goals increased her career total to 23, setting the program record.

The Dutchmen (9-4-1, 6-3-1 MAC) opened the scoring 2:32 into the first period, taking a 1-0 lead over the Monarchs (4-7-2, 4-4-2 MAC). The program got on the board when Campanile sent the first shot of the game into the net. King's countered with a shot on goal at the 2:37 mark, but goaltender Lacy Bigelow responded with a save for LVC. Lebanon Valley also continued to tally shots during the frame, as Laura Radford registered an attempt that was saved at the 6:56 mark before Dale's try was saved a minute later. Back on the defensive end, Bigelow kept limiting the opposition with saves at the 8:34, 8:45, and 9:37 marks.

The Flying Dutchmen then generated more offensive opportunities as the opening period went on, as Radford and Dale took back-to-back shots on goal that were saved during the 11th minute. The Monarchs followed this by sending more shots toward the net as well, which resulted in Bigelow making saves at the 10:56, 11:02, 11:07, and 14:44 marks. During this key defensive stretch for LVC, Julia Schafer also blocked a shot by King's 13:58 into the period. The programs then proceeded to go back and forth for over four minutes, as neither program put a shot on goal over this span. Lebanon Valley found the net again before the end of the first, extending its advantage to 2-0 with 29 seconds left. The team went up by two on a goal by Dale, courtesy of assists by Tiffany Anderson and Addison Taylert.

Bigelow faced a shot by the Monarchs just 13 seconds into the second period and delivered a save for the Dutchmen. Lebanon Valley followed this by creating a pair of scoring chances, as Leela Nemani and Erin Yorke both had shots on goal saved within three seconds during the opening minute. Bigelow also continued her productive afternoon as the frame went on, coming through with five more stops for LVC over the next 7:29. The goaltender then made a save at the 11:34 mark to preserve the team's two-goal advantage.

The Dutchmen kept sending the puck toward the net during the second period as well, as Dale's attempt was saved 12:04 into the frame before Campanile's had two tries saved within eight seconds in the 14th minute. Defensively, Radford contributed to LVC's efforts by blocking a shot attempt at the 14:52 mark. Bigelow then logged saves at the 15:23 and 16:45 marks before Norah McCauliffe tallied a block 17:28 into the period.
