Women’s Soccer Extends Winning Streak to Four with Big Victory at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College Women's Soccer team continued its recent winning ways, picking up its fourth straight victory in a 1-0 battle against Ursinus College on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Patterson Field. Darrian Berkheimer scored the game-winning goal for LVC in the first half, while goalkeeper Camryn Porter delivered her third straight shutout.

The Dutchmen (4-3-0) and the Bears (5-2-1, 0-1-0) competed defensively early in the first half, keeping the match scoreless for over 27 minutes at the start. Lebanon Valley created the first scoring chance of the day, as Jordan Lasky took a shot that was saved near the bottom left of the net just 3:08 into the stanza. Ursinus countered with a shot that went above the net at the 7:01 mark before an attempt that sailed over the upper-right corner of the net 10:01 into the contest. The Bears then took shots on goal at the 14:13 and 22:03 marks, but Porter was there to make saves for LVC on both attempts.

The programs continued to post strong defensive efforts as the stanza progressed, as each team only took one more shot before the break. Berkheimer remained a key contributor offensively, registering a shot attempt that went to the left 34:43 into the game. The Bears later took a shot that went over the top-left corner of the net with 2:49 left in the first. Lebanon Valley took its one-goal advantage into halftime.

Ursinus worked to generate offensive opportunities when the second half began, as Porter recorded a save for LVC on the first shot on goal of the stanza at the 49:40 mark. The Dutchmen responded with a shot by Lasky 53:03 into the match, which went to the left of the net. The Bears' offense took five more shots over the next 9:17, including an attempted that was saved by Porter at the 57:28 mark.
