YORK, Pa. The Lebanon Valley College Men's Soccer team delivered a valiant effort in the program's matchup against York College of Pennsylvania but dropped a 2-0 contest on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Graham Field.

The Dutchmen and the Spartans battled defensively early in the match, as neither team took a shot for over eight minutes at the start. LVC registered the first attempt of the night, as Aidan Negron took a shot that went just to the right of the net 8:29 into the first half. Darryl Greenwood also contributed to the program's offensive efforts with a shot to the left side at the 14:11 mark. The Spartans then opened the scoring 33:35 into the game, taking a 1-0 advantage on a goal scored by Dermot Williamson. York followed this with another shot at the 42:43 mark, but goalkeeper Dalton Fitterling was there to make the save for the Flying Dutchmen. Lebanon Valley's offense responded with a shot on goal by Nathan Kimball 57 seconds later, which was saved. The programs went back and forth during the remainder of the first, prompting the Spartans to lead 1-0 as the match entered halftime.

The Dutchmen worked to generate scoring chances as the contest went into the second half, as McCormick sent shots toward the net that were saved at the 50:30 and 52:16 marks. The program was also productive on the defensive end, holding the opposition to just one shot when York had three corner kicks during a stretch of 1:59. This attempt by the Spartans went to the right of the net. Fitterling faced another shot 63:38 into the game and recorded his second save.

The Spartans scored again at the 67:38 mark, making it a 2-0 contest on a goal by Noah Roche.
