WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Lebanon Valley Field Hockey team scored three times in the first five minutes and held McDaniel College to six total shots in a 4-0 victory over the Green Terror on Wednesday at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium in Westminster, Maryland.
The Dutchmen improved to 6-0 on the season and scored within 30 seconds of taking the first three penalty corners of the game.
Claire Weidenhammer took the first shot of the game a little over a minute in which was saved by the McDaniel keeper. The Dutchmen were awarded a penalty corner at 1:24 and 11 seconds later
Gracie Johnson gave LVC a 1-0 lead with her first goal of the season off an assist by
Sorrell Long. Not even a minute later the Dutchmen earned another penalty corner and at 3:03 of the first quarter Johnson found Weidenhammer for the game's second goal.
LVC earned the third penalty corner of the game in the middle of the fifth minute. Long's first attempt was saved and then Weidenhammer had a shot saved before
Jenna Angstadt scored for the third consecutive game to put the Dutchmen up 3-0 at the five-minute mark.
Abby Rodenberger nearly made it 4-0 in the 14th minute when her shot hit the post. LVC dominated possession in the opening 15 minutes.
The Green Terror started the second quarter with their first corner of the game and
Ella Weidenhammer made a save on the first shot attempt by a McDaniel forward. Rodenberger had her shot attempted saved late in the 26th minute. The Dutchmen took advantage of playing a woman-up because of a card in the 29th minute as
Lexi Ward scored her fourth goal of the season. Not even 30 seconds later the Dutchmen were back on the attack and earned a penalty corner. Johnson had her shot saved and LVC took a 4-0 lead into the half.
The Dutchmen had a pair of penalty corners in the first 10 minutes of the third quarter as they controlled possession. Angstadt and
Rebecca Lane had shot attempts saved during the stretch. The Green Terror had a shot blocked and a shot go wide in the final five minutes of the period. McDaniel began the fourth with a shot on goal that was knocked away by Weidenhammer. Ward put a shot wide and then
Lauren Foster had a shot saved in the 51st minute. Jillian Tate took LVC's final shot on goal of the game in the 53rd minute which was saved. Weidenhammer made her third and final save of the game in the 58th minute.

- Johnson had a season-high three points on a goal and an assist. The junior has now recorded a point in each of the past three games.
- Claire Weidenhammer scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season on three shots.
- Angstadt tallied her fourth goal of the year on two shots.
- Ward scored her 18th career goal on two shots while Long dished out her second assist of the season.
- Ella Weidenhammer recorded her second shutout of the year with three saves.
- The Dutchmen outshot the Green Terror 15-6 including a 13-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- LVC had an 11-5 advantage in penalty corners.
