ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team is headed to a conference championship match for the third consecutive year after the Dutchmen took down DeSales University by a score of 5-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Semifinal on Wednesday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville.
The second-seeded Dutchmen (12-8) defeated the third-seeded Bulldogs (10-6) in just under two hours. LVC took two of the three doubles matches and then won at number three, number four, and number six singles to clinch the match victory.
Inside the Box
- Adam Warren and Ethan Luu started things off for the Dutchmen with an 8-1 victory at number two doubles.
- Jake Erb and Jared Hostetter finished off an 8-0 victory at number three doubles right after Warren and Luu shook hands to give LVC a 2-0 lead.
- The Bulldogs earned their only point of the match with an 8-2 victory at number one doubles over Michael Schuetz and Colin Brusse.
- Both Schuetz and Brusse came back strong in singles earning victories to put the Dutchmen on the brink of clinching.
- Schuetz finished first with a 6-3, 6-1 win at number three and then Brusse was done right after with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at number four.
- Hostetter gave the Dutchmen a match clinching win at number six with a 7-5, 6-3 win.
- Warren won the first set 6-3 and dropped the second set 6-2 at number one singles.
- Erb was down 7-5, 5-4 at number two when his match was halted.
- Luu was down 7-5, 4-3 at number five at the time of the match being clinched.
- The Dutchmen finish the year with a perfect 7-0 record at the Shankroff Tennis Center and have now won 25 consecutive home matches.
- LVC is looking for the program's third consecutive conference title in the first year as members of the MAC Freedom.

LVC will head to North Bergen, New Jersey for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday in the MAC Freedom Final against top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology at Braddock Park. The Ducks defeated FDU-Florham 5-0 in the other semifinal on Wednesday.
