NEWTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore goalkeeper Kellen Markley was honored for his productive week with the Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse team, as the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office announced in a release on Monday that he was selected as the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week.

Markley made 25 saves and had a 54.3 save percentage in a 1-1 week for the Dutchmen. The sophomore started the week with 22 saves in a 17-11 defeat at Arcadia where he had three ground balls and one caused turnover. The sophomore then made three saves in just over 40 minutes of work in a 21-6 victory over Delaware Valley on Sunday.

This is Markley's first conference weekly award this season and the second of his career. The sophomore was also recognized as the MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 27, 2023. Markley is the first LVC player to receive a conference weekly honor this spring.

Markley and the Dutchmen will return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, as the team will travel to take on Misericordia University at Mangelsdorf Field in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
