Men’s Tennis Battles Tough at Nationally Ranked Ducks

BAYONNE, N.J. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team were dealt the squad's first conference defeat of the year on Saturday as host Stevens Institute of Technology won a hard-fought battle 9-0.
 
Stevens (7-5, 2-0 MAC Freedom), who is ranked 50th in this week's ITA rankings, swept all three doubles matches and then won all six singles matches in two sets at the Bayonne Tennis Courts in Stephen Gregg Park in Bayonne. The Dutchmen (8-4, 2-1 MAC Freedom) saw their 16-match conference winning streak come to an end against the defending MAC Freedom Champions.

  • Adam Warren and Ethan Luu dropped an 8-3 match at number one doubles.
  • Michael Schuetz was the only Dutchmen to score multiple points in each set in a 6-2, 6-2 decision at number three singles.
  • Warren dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at number one singles.
  • Luu and Jared Hostetter both dropped 6-1, 6-1 decisions at number five and number six singles.

The Dutchmen will look to rebound on Wednesday as they host King's College at 3:30 p.m. in an important conference match at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
