Men’s Tennis Battles Clark and Baldwin Wallace in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team played another two very strong opponents on Tuesday dropping a 9-0 affair to Clark University in the morning and then a 6-0 decision to Baldwin Wallace in the evening in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Dutchmen battled tough in both matches despite not being able to pick up a point against either opponent. LVC used two different lineups in the matches.
 
Match One vs. Clark (5-2) at Shipyard Racquet Club
  • Adam Warren and Jake Erb went to a tiebreaker at number one doubles where they dropped an 8-7 (10-4) decision.
  • Jesse Beck and Ethan Luu also went to a tiebreaker at number two doubles and dropped an identical score of 8-7 (10-4).
  • Warren fell 6-3, 6-2 at number one singles.
  • Michael Schuetz had a close first set but fell 6-3, 6-0 at number three singles.
  • Jared Hostetter dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision at number five singles in his first collegiate singles match.
  • Antonio Scaramuzzino played his first collegiate singles match at number six singles and dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision.
 
Match Two vs. Baldwin Wallace (8-2) at Chaplin Park Tennis Center
  • Warren and Luu teamed together at number two doubles and battled tough before dropping an 8-6 decision.
  • Beck and Schuetz had a close match at number one doubles in a tough 8-5 defeat.
  • Hostetter and Scaramuzzino played together at number three doubles and dropped an 8-3 match.
  • Three matches went unfinished due to rain. At number three singles, Schuetz was down 6-3, 5-2 and at number four singles.
  • Colin Brusse was in a second set battle at 5-5 after dropping the first set 6-2.
  • Beck had a close contest at number one singles as the first set went in favor of his opponent 6-4 and he was down 5-4 in the second before the rain came.
Up Next
The Dutchmen will wrap up the spring break trip on Thursday as the squad will take on Roanoke College at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort.
