ANNVILLE, Pa. – Luke Pollock and 
Shane Stossel each registered an RBI for the Lebanon Valley College baseball team, as the program dropped a 7-2 contest to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, March 16 at McGill Field. 
Stossel started on the mound for the Dutchmen and posted a scoreless top of the first inning after a couple of flyouts and a groundout to shortstop. The Ducks opened the scoring in the top of the second inning, taking a 1-0 lead on an RBI single to right field. The pitching staffs of both clubs then limited the opposition over the next few frames, maintaining the score until the bottom of the fifth inning. Stossel posted another zero in the top of the third after recording a pair of strikeouts and a groundout to second base.
Jacob Horton entered the game to pitch for LVC in the top of the fourth frame and began his relief outing with a scoreless inning, fanning a couple of batters. The right-hander followed this by retiring the side in order in the fifth, registering a pop out to shortstop, a strikeout looking, and a groundout to short. Lebanon Valley got on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the fifth inning, tying the game at 1-1. The club started a two-out rally by loading the bases with a walk by 
Pete Botbyl, a double to right field by 
Jace Fetterman, and a 
Logan Brewer hit-by-pitch. Stossel was then also hit by a pitch, plating Botbyl to even the score. 
Horton recorded another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the sixth, keeping the game tied with a pop out to second base and two more strikeouts. Stevens then went ahead 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning after an error and took a 3-1 advantage in the top of the eighth on a solo home run. The Dutchmen continued to compete in the batter's box as the contest progressed, narrowing the score to 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth. 
Justin Ranker led off the frame by hitting a grounder to third base and reaching on an error, before 
Owen Berry hit a single into left field. This was followed by Pollock driving an RBI double to center field, scoring Ranker to make it a one-run ballgame.
The Ducks responded in the top of the ninth inning, taking a 7-2 lead after a two-run double to right-center field and a two-run single to right. Lebanon Valley kept battling at the plate by getting a couple of runners on in the bottom of the ninth, including a single through the right side by 
Ryan Murphy. Ultimately, this would stand as the final score. 
Inside the Box Score
	- Stossel struck out three batters during his three innings of work on the mound while going 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate. The senior has knocked in nine runs this season and tallied a hit in three consecutive games. 
 
	- Pollock went 1-for-1 with an RBI double in the eighth inning. The sophomore has driven in four runs this year. 
 
	- Fetterman went 2-for-5 with a double, extending his hitting streak to five games. The junior has logged three multi-hit games during the campaign. 
 
	- Murphy recorded a 1-for-4 afternoon with a walk, marking the fourth straight game the senior has picked up a hit. The ninth-inning single was the 100th hit of his career.
 
	- Berry went 1-for-3 during the contest, registering a knock for the second game in a row. The shortstop also tied a season-high three assists while tallying two putouts in the field.
 
	- Botbyl drew a walk and scored his 10th run of the year. The junior has crossed the plate in each of his last four games.
 
	- Ranker scored a run for the fifth time this season while tallying a walk. The second baseman also tied a season-high four assists in the field. 
 
	- Horton struck out five batters in 3.1 innings of relief. 
 
	- Malachi Duka fanned a pair of batters in a frame out of the bullpen.
 
	- Trey Dianna, Jacob Detwiler, and Hunter Williams each had a strikeout on the mound.

Lebanon Valley will return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, as the program will host Immaculata University at McGill Field.
