MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced that Lebanon Valley sophomore Claire Weidenhammer was named the Division III Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Weidenhammer earns the honor after recording 10 points on four goals and two assists in a pair of dominant victories for the Dutchmen last week. The midfielder played a big role in a 5-1 victory at Arcadia with a career-high five points on two goals and an assist. All five of her points came in the first quarter as the Dutchmen built a 3-0 lead. She finished the week with another five-point game with two goals and an assist in a 4-0 victory over Delaware Valley. Weidenhammer scored both of her goals in the third quarter and recorded her assist in the second.
 
The national award is the first for Weidenhammer in her career after she was named the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Week for the first time on Monday. She is also the first Dutchmen to earn a National Player of the Week award since 2007 when Nicole Bomberger was named the womensfieldhockey.com Player of the Week.
