11/16/2024 6:13:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Coyla Bartholomew, Autumn Garges, and Abigail Hunt finished in the top 35 to earn All-Region honors as the Lebanon Valley Women's Cross Country team finished 11th out of 30 scoring teams on Saturday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship hosted by Lock Haven University.

LVC scored 264 points, just missing the top 10 by one point. Johns Hopkins University won the team title with a score of 34 to earn the Region's automatic team qualifier to the NCAA National Championships next weekend. Carnegie Mellon was second with 76 points while Gettysburg finished third with 150 points. Grove City was fourth with 153 points and Misericordia rounded out the top five with 192 points. Dickinson with 241 points, Saint Vincent with 246 points, Salisbury with 250 points, Scranton with 261 points, and Elizabethtown with 263 points finished sixth through 10th.

"11th place being only one point away from 10th and three points from ninth stings just a little, truly," head coach James O'Brien stated. "However, if you take a look at the results we were only a stone's throw away from sixth place. We are right in this thing. This was the first time that we've had three All-Region ladies in school history.  Kaylee dropped a phenomenal amount of time to conclude a stellar freshman year and Sierra scored for us for the first time this season. We return an amazing crew for next year that has the opportunity to make a similar jump like our guys did from 2023 to 2024."

Washington and Jefferson junior Claire Anderson won the individual title with a 6,000-meter time of 21:04.9. Bartholomew was the top Dutchman finisher with a career-best time of 22:02.9 to cross the line 22nd out of 217 runners. She earns All-Region honors for the second consecutive year and her time is sixth all-time in program history. Garges wasn't too far behind with a career-best time of 22:27.4 to finish 34th and earn All-Region honors for the first time in her career. Her time is seventh on the program's top 15 list. Hunt was right behind her in 35th with a career-best time of 22:30.0 also earning All-Region honors for the first time in her career and a spot in the record books at ninth.

Kaylee Senglar was the fourth LVC finisher in 78th with a career-best time of 23:44.6. Sierra Kapcsos was the fifth scorer with a career-best time of 24:19.7 to finish 97th. Aleah Hoffman ran a career-best 24:54.6 to finish 116th and Christine Wagner finished 124th with a career-best time of 25:02.4.
