WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Swimming teams ended the first semester on a high note with a sweep of King's College on Friday evening in the Scandlon Physical Education Center in Wilkes-Barre. The women's team defeated the Monarchs 137-32 while the men's team won 126-68.
Inside the Results
- The Dutchmen began the meet by sweeping the 200-yard medley relays. The women's team of Rachel Gibson, Rachel King, Noryan Mitchell, and Karly Kile won in 2:13.45 touching the wall just before the team of Natalie Bourne, Hollyn Helsel, Jana Shoffner, and Payton Huff who finished in 2:13.67. The men's squad of Joe Beidler, Tyler Singer, Josh Varner, and Connor Hirons won easily in the 2:01.04.
- Kile was the only women's swimmer in the 1000-yard freestyle and had a time of 13:57.77. Owen Fastrich won the men's heat in 11:17.16.
- The women had the top three finishers in the 200-yard freestyle as Sierra Young won in 2:17.20, Lilly McNutt was second in 2:24.35, and Alex Janner touched third in 2:57.60. Mitchell Delano was second for the men in 2:25.23.
- Shoffner finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.97 seconds while Helsel was third in 29.17 seconds. Singer won the men's race in 25.33 seconds while Hirons was second in 26.27 seconds. Roman Schelhorn had the second fastest time in the field as he swam exhibition and finished in 25.82 seconds.
- Jordyn Grossman won the 200-yard IM in 2:33.78 while McNutt was second in 2:45.94. Justin Kopp won the men's heat in 2:22.36.
- Fastrich won his second event of the evening in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.46. Varner was right behind him in second with a MAC-qualifying time of 1:01.86 while Kopp touched third in a MAC-qualifying 1:02.03.
- Young led a trio of Dutchmen in the 100-yard freestyle with a MAC-qualifying time of 58.39 seconds. Mitchell was second in 1:01.59 while King finished third in 1:02.96. Singer finished third in the men's heat with a time of 59.70 seconds.
- Grossman won her second event of the meet with a MAC-qualifying time of 1:07.51 in the 100-yard backstroke. Bourne was second in 1:15.05 and Gibson touched third in 1:20.77. Beidler was second for the men in 1:09.41.
- McNutt and Kile were the only two women in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 6:29.81 and 6:44.20. Fastrich won another event with a time of 5:32.55. Kopp was second in 6:24.24.
- King won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.85 while Mitchell was second in 1:20.98. Varner won the men's race with a time of 1:09.83 while Zach Fischer was third in 1:18.35.
- The Dutchmen swept the 200-yard freestyle relays to end the meet. Young, Helsel, Bourne, and Grossman won the women's race in 1:52.74 while Sean Coyle, Jacob Herald, Delano, and Hirons won the men's heat in 1:48.91.

The Dutchmen will be off until January. The next competition will be against Widener University inside the Arnold Sports Center at 3 p.m. on Saturday January 11, 2025.
