HERSHEY, Pa. – Anna Dale scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for the Lebanon Valley College Women's Ice Hockey team, propelling the program to a big 2-1 victory in overtime against Wilkes University on Friday, Nov. 15 at Hersheypark Arena. Goaltender
Mia Frisoni was also dominant on the defensive end, posting a season-high 46 saves.
The Dutchmen (4-0-0, 3-0-0 MAC) were solid defensively early in the contest, as Frisoni made four saves within the first 2:42. Frisoni later came through with stops on back-to-back shots by the Colonels (3-2-0, 2-1-0 MAC) near the end of the fifth minute. Lebanon Valley also worked to generate offensive opportunities as the first period progressed, as
Maeghan Howson took a shot that was saved at the 5:28 mark before
Tiffany Anderson's attempt was saved 7:17 into the frame. Wilkes later took a pair of shots on goal at the 9:52 and 10:11 marks, but Frisoni was there to make saves on both tries.
The Flying Dutchmen had multiple players contribute to their defensive efforts as the first went on, as
Jess Dawe, Anderson, and Dale each blocked a shot by the Colonels within a period of 1:14 that began in the 14
th minute. This was followed by Anderson sending a puck toward the net that was saved at the 14:42 mark before Dawe's shot on goal was saved at the 15:31 mark. Frisoni continued to post a strong effort during the remaining minutes of the opening period, tallying four more saves to keep things scoreless.
Wilkes logged a couple more shots on goal at the start of the second period, leading to saves by Frisoni at the 19-second and 25-second marks. Lebanon Valley also kept working to create scoring chances, as Dale took shots that were saved 1:29 into the period and at the 2:23 mark. The Flying Dutchmen later posted a key defensive stretch of 19 seconds that started near the end of the fifth minute, where Frisoni made a save before
Alexis Oukes and Dale each blocked shots within five seconds.
The Dutchmen continued to battle offensively as the second went on, as Dawe took a shot that was saved at the 9:27 mark before
Addison Taylert's try was saved 10:36 into the frame. Frisoni kept working to limit Wilkes as well by making saves at the 11:06, 11:59, 12:05, and 12:46 marks. The Colonels then got on the scoreboard 13:56 into the second period, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jordan Ferry.
Frisoni also continued to face shots in the second period, making eight more stops for LVC in the remaining minutes. The goaltender posted six important saves in the 17
th minute, keeping Wilkes scoreless during this stretch. Back on the offensive end,
Cheyenne Wilk created a scoring chance for Lebanon Valley with a shot on goal just before time expired in the second frame.
The Colonels were aggressive offensively at the beginning of the third period, putting six shots on goal within the first 7:42. Despite these efforts, Frisoni made saves for the Dutchmen on each attempt. During this important stretch, the goaltender recorded a pair of stops within 13 seconds in the seventh minute. The Dutchmen countered with a couple of opportunities, as Taylert's shot was saved eight minutes into the frame before Brysha Shmidt had an attempt that was saved 10 seconds later. Wilk and Dawe then each registered shots that were saved within seven seconds in the 10
th minute.
Lebanon Valley's defense kept battling as the third progressed, as Oukes blocked a shot, Frisoni made a save, and
Leela Nemani blocked a shot within 26 seconds in the 11
th minute. The Dutchmen then found the net 12:02 into the second period, tying the game at 1-1. The program evened the score on a goal by Dale, courtesy of an assist by
Sky Campanile. Wilkes responded with three more shots on goal during the remaining minutes of the third period, but Frisoni made saves on all three tries. The goaltender delivered a clutch save for LVC with just five seconds left. The teams remained tied at the end of the frame, sending the contest into overtime.
Lebanon Valley didn't waste any time scoring in overtime, winning the game 2-1 just 24 seconds into the frame. Dale came through in the clutch by netting the only shot of overtime, after assists by
Erin Yorke and Anderson.

- The Dutchmen improved their overall record to 4-0-0, the best start to a season in program history.
- Dale scored her team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season, including her third game-winner of the campaign. This ties the program's single-season record of three game-winning goals, which Cheyenne Wilk and Alexa Spiers set in the 2022-23 season. The sophomore also tied Olivia Cindrich's program record of five career game-winning goals. Dale has scored in each of LVC's four contests this year as well.
- Campanile dished out the assist on Dale's game-tying goal in the third period.
- Yorke tallied her 25th career assist on the game-winner by Dale, which set the program's assists record. Abby Radcliffe previously held the LVC record with 24 career assists.
- Anderson also assisted Dale's game-winning goal in overtime.
