ANNVILLE, Pa. – Goalkeeper
Camryn Porter made eight saves for the Lebanon Valley College Women's Soccer team, as the program dropped a 5-0 contest to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Herbert Field.
The Dutchmen and the Ducks competed defensively early in the first half, keeping the matchup scoreless for over 34 minutes at the start. Stevens took the first shot of the game 1:43 into the match, but Porter was there to make the save for LVC. The first-year goalie then delivered another important save at the 8:46 mark, maintaining the 0-0 score. Porter also continued to limit the opposition as the stanza progressed, tallying two more saves 19:51 into the contest and at the 21:00 mark.
Stevens took another shot on goal 32:46 into the match, which resulted in Porter's fifth save of the afternoon. The Ducks then opened the scoring 34:31 into the game, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Sophia Murphy. Stevens later added another tally at the 40:59 mark, taking a 2-0 advantage on a goal by Olivia Castro after a corner kick. The Dutchmen followed this by creating an offensive opportunity near the end of the first, as
Darrian Berkheimer took a shot that went to the right of the net with 1:27 remaining. The Ducks led 2-0 as the contest went into halftime.
Stevens then scored again 3:57 into the second half, going ahead on a goal by Sarah Wnorowski. The Ducks later tacked on another with a goal by Luciana Rodrigues at the 56:46 mark, making it a 4-0 contest. Stevens followed this with Murphy's second goal, advancing the score to 5-0 at the 57:34 mark. Lebanon Valley then created a scoring chance, as Berkheimer sent a shot toward the net that was saved 58:09 into the contest.
The Dutchmen kept battling as the second half went on, as Porter recorded another save at the 75:57 mark. The goalkeeper followed this with a stop 82:26 into the match, marking the first-year's eighth save of the day. The programs proceeded to go back and forth through the remaining minutes, prompting 5-0 to be the final score.
