DALLAS, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College football team pounded out 209 rushing yards to go with two interceptions and four sacks in a key victory over Misericordia University, 20-9, in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Mangelsdorf Field. The win keeps LVC just one game back of third place in the jumbled conference standings with three games to play.
Quarterback
Braden Bohannon paced the LVC (3-4, 3-3 MAC) rushing attack with 109 yards and a score. He threw for another 117 yards and touchdown.
LVC raced out of the gates courtesy of strong runs by
Malachi Williams who finished with 54 yards on the day. The Cougar defense stiffened around midfield, forcing a 4th-and-3, but Bohannon connected with
Ethan Heisey on a 39-yard throw down the middle that put LVC inside the five. Three plays later, Bohannon scored on a quarterback sneak.
After a Misericordia (3-4, 2-4 MAC) field goal, LVC powered the ball down the field and went back up by seven after a
Tim Kissinger 35-yard field goal. The Dutchmen carried that 10-3 lead into halftime.
The Dutchmen opened the second half with more of its punishing rushing attack during a 13-play, 61-yard touchdown drive. In a nifty move, Bohannon rolled left and then flipped the ball into the end zone where
Rylee Stahl snagged it between a trio of Cougar defenders for his first touchdown of the season.
Carter Foust picked off Misericordia on the ensuing possession that LVC converted into another Kissinger field goal, pushing the lead to 20-3.
Evan Kutzler added an impressive fourth-quarter interception inside the 10—his fourth on the year.
Ryan Enright and Foust led the Dutchmen defensively with eight tackles each, followed by
