10/25/2024 7:36:00 PM

LEBANON, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Cross Country team put six runners in the top 10 to win the Last Chance Run Fast Invitational on Friday afternoon at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon.

LVC defended its home course for the second time this season as the men's squad also won the Dutchmen Invitational earlier in the season. The Dutchmen scored an impressive 27 points in the field of 10 scoring teams. Mount St. Mary's was second with 68 points while Juniata College was third with 114 points. Penn State Berks was fourth with 121 points and Eastern University rounded out the top five with 140 points.

"This was really an incredible display of depth from our men's team, considering we rested 10 of our top runners," Head Coach James O'Brien stated. "Averaging 27:08 for our five-runner average in this way really impresses me and bodes well for our championships next weekend at Messiah. Liam Allen had a career day, and I'm also incredibly proud of seniors Alec & Cole for notching lifetime bests as well."

Liam Allen won the individual title on the 8,000-meter course with a career-best time of 26:46.3. Alec Di Cesare was not far behind him in second out of 83 runners with a career-best time of 27:02.6. The Dutchmen then had a group of four runners finish seventh through 10th. Samuel Bower crossed the line in 27:11.8 followed by Caden Bell in a career-best 27:16.8. Aden Davis ran a career-best 27:25.3 and Cole Lehman was right behind him in a career-best 27:27.0.
