MADISON, N.J. – Nathan Prex found the net twice for the Lebanon Valley College Men's Soccer team, leading the program to a big 2-0 win over FDU-Florham on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Robert T. Shields Field.
The Dutchmen (8-4-2, 2-0-1 MAC Freedom) and the Devils (10-5-1, 0-3-0) battled defensively in the first half, as the programs limited each other early. The first two shots on goal of the afternoon were taken by Lebanon Valley, as Prex and
Simon Grimes each sent the ball toward the net within 12 seconds during the 10
th minute. FDU-Florham countered by putting an attempt on goal at the 15:31 mark, but goalkeeper
Dalton Fitterling was there to make the save for LVC. The graduate student goalie made another stop just 56 seconds later, keeping the game scoreless.
The Flying Dutchmen also continued to record shots as the frame went on, as
Aaron Weitzel took a shot that was saved at the 26:31 mark.
Aidan Negron followed this with a shot that went to the left of the net just 35 seconds later. As the end of the first approached,
Lucas Strange and
Ben Ammon contributed to the squad's offensive efforts with a shot each during a 58-second stretch that began in the 37
th minute. Fitterling later made another save for LVC at the 40:12 mark, before the teams entered halftime in a 0-0 tie.
Lebanon Valley kept working to create scoring chances when the second half got underway, as
Charlie Kramer registered a shot that was saved 51:02 into the match before Strange took a shot that hit off the right post at the 52:19 mark. Weitzel also logged another shot on goal that was saved 55:58 into the game. The Dutchmen then got on the scoreboard at the 61:24 mark, taking a 1-0 lead over the Devils. The program went ahead when Prex fired a clutch shot past the goalie and into the right corner of the net, courtesy of an assist by Strange.
FDU-Florham also sent more shots toward the net as the second half progressed, as Fitterling made a stop 66:13 into the contest. The goalkeeper followed this with a pair of big saves during a stretch of seven seconds in the 72
nd minute. The programs then went back and forth defensively until the Flying Dutchmen added another tally at the 79:26 mark to take a 2-0 advantage. The squad went up by two on Prex's second goal, as his free kick ended up in the left corner of the net. The Devils later responded with a shot on goal at the 86:03 mark, which resulted in Fitterling's eighth save. LVC ultimately preserved its lead through the 90
th minute to secure the win.

- The victory extends Lebanon Valley's unbeaten streak to six games.
- Prex scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season, including his first game-winner of the year. The junior also led the team with five total shots and posted a game-high four attempts on goal.
- Strange dished out the assist on Prex's first goal of the day. The graduate student also took three shots.
- The Dutchmen took 20 total shots during the contest. The program also had a 9-8 advantage in shots on goal.
- Weitzel took three total shots, putting two on goal.
- Grimes, Kramer, and Matthew Weinstock-Collins each registered a shot on goal as well.
- Fitterling made eight saves during his fourth shutout of the campaign.
