Five Dutchmen Score Goals Against St. John Fisher

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Five players scored goals for the Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team during its 5–0 victory over St. John Fisher University on Sunday at Herbert Field. Senior Aidan Negron was a key contributor to the victory, scoring a goal and tallying an assist.

The Dutchmen (2-0-0) opened the scoring early, taking a 1–0 lead over the Cardinals (0-0-2) just four minutes into the game. Graduate student forward Lucas Strange got the team on the board by finding the top left of the net, courtesy of an assist by Negron. Lebanon Valley extended its advantage to 2–0 when the game was 13:48 in, as Negron sent a shot into the back of the net.

The defenses of both teams would battle defensively for the remainder of the first half. LVC was dominant on the defensive end during the half, holding St. John Fisher to just three shots in the frame. The Flying Dutchmen took a 2–0 lead over the Cardinals into halftime.

Lebanon Valley picked up right where it left off when the second half started, as sophomore forward Nathan Prex made it a 3–0 ballgame with a goal that settled toward the top of the net 9:48 into the stanza. The Flying Dutchmen tacked on another goal 69:46 into the contest, as junior forward Aaron Weitzel snuck the ball past the diving attempt of the Cardinals' goalkeeper.

Weitzel's first goal of the year was assisted by sophomore Ethan Groff and put LVC up 4–0. First-year Will Burton capped things off by sending the ball into the lower-left corner of the net 81:02 into the contest, extending the team's lead to 5–0. Burton's first collegiate goal was assisted by sophomore LJ Ndaro

This would stand as the final score, as the Dutchmen kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard during the final nine minutes of play. Lebanon Valley was also stellar defensively in the second half, limiting St. John Fisher to just four shots in the last 45 minutes of the game.
