Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Prex Scores Two Goals Against Franklin & Marshall

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore forward Nathan Prex scored two goals on Wednesday afternoon, as the Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team fell 3-2 to No. 18 Franklin & Marshall College at Tylus Field.

The Flying Dutchmen (2-1-0) took a 2-1 lead over the Diplomats (2-0-0) into halftime, courtesy of Prex's two shots into the net. LVC displayed solid defense throughout the game, limiting the opposition through the majority of the contest. Franklin & Marshall received a pair of late goals that ultimately proved to be the difference in the game.

The Diplomats opened the scoring early, taking a 1-0 lead 4:15 into the game on a goal by Isaac Mintz. The Dutchmen responded 16:55 into the contest, tying things up at 1-1. Prex got Lebanon Valley on the scoreboard by sending a shot past the goalkeeper and into the lower-left corner of the net. The team's first point of the afternoon was assisted by graduate student Lucas Strange

Lebanon Valley went ahead just 1:28 later, taking a 2-1 advantage against Franklin & Marshall. Prex found the lower-left corner of the net once again, sending the ball by the diving attempt of the Diplomats' goalkeeper. The forward's fourth goal of the 2023 season was assisted by sophomore Logan Hicks

The Dutchmen and Diplomats then battled defensively for the remainder of the first half, as neither team got on the board during the next 26:37. The squads were also limited in scoring opportunities, as each program only took one shot the rest of the half after Prex's second goal of the day.

This defensive dominance continued for a significant portion of the second half, as the contest remained a one-goal game for the first 33:33 of the final stanza. Franklin & Marshall resumed the scoring with a goal by Koa Kaliebe, tying things up at 2-2. The Diplomats then took a 3-2 advantage on a goal by Oscar Horwitz with 2:20 left in the ballgame. This would stand as the final score.
