ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley softball pitcher
Jordan Walter earned her second consecutive MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week honor on Monday in a release by the Middle Atlantic Conference office.
Walter was 2-0 in 12 innings and allowed just three hits for the Dutchmen. She began the week with five strong innings of relief where she struck out four and gave up just one hit in a 9-5 victory at Widener. The junior entered the game with the Dutchmen down 5-4 and gave up just a seventh inning infield single the rest of the way. She continued her dominant pitching against Messiah in a 6-1 victory where she retired the final 15 batters of the game and didn't allow a hit after two in the first inning. She struck out a career-high nine batters and allowed just one unearned run on two hits.
The junior earns her fourth career conference weekly award and second in a row after also being honored last week.
Lebanon Valley will begin play in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament on Thursday as the top seed and host of the championship. LVC will take on either Eastern University, Stevenson University, or York College of Pennsylvania at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
