Dutchmen Men’s Track and Field Continue Strong Start at York

YORK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's outdoor track and field team had another great meet on Wednesday as the squad competed at the York Twilight Meet hosted by York College of Pennsylvania.
 
MAC AND AARTFC QUALIFIERS PLUS OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Daniel Murtha finished seventh in the 200 meters with a career best time of 23.32 seconds. He also had a career best time in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.61 seconds to finish third. Zach Reed was sixth in the hurdles with a MAC qualifying time of 16.58 seconds. Kadan Smith was the third Dutchman to finish on the podium in eighth with a time of 16.80 seconds. Smith was a MAC qualifier in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.08 seconds to finish sixth. Donovan Goundie and Alec Di Cesare qualified for the MAC Championships in the 400 meters. Goundie was fifth with a time of 51.54 seconds while Di Cesare ran 51.94 seconds to finish eighth.
 
Elijah McKell won the 800 meters in a MAC qualifying 1:57.27 while Sam Rothstein was fourth in 1:59.12 which also qualifies for the MAC Championships. Andy Loy was the third member of the team to qualify for MACs in the event with a career best time of 2:00.31. Vinny Ferrizzi continued his strong season with a time of 4:04.17 in the 1500 meters to finish third. The 4x100 meter relay team of Murtha, Smith, Owen Linder, and Alex Sabo won in an AARTFC qualifying time of 43.23 seconds while the 4x400 "A" team of Linder, Matt Bruchak, Di Cesare, and McKell was second with a time of 3:24.06. The 4x400 "B" team of Rothstein, Loy, Christian Morrison, and Eric Shelton was fifth in 3:37.63.
 
Ayden Stankus finished second in the pole vault with a career best height of 4.25 meters (13'11.25"). Darren Rodoff was sixth with a height of 3.95 meters (12'11.50"). Josh Otto was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.38 meters (20'11.25") on his fourth attempt. Daniel Sheffield was seventh with a jump of 6.23 meters (20'5.25") om his sixth jump. Trey Reynolds had a career best throw of 49.14 meters (161'02") on his fifth attempt in the hammer to finish fourth. Reynolds was also seventh in the shot put with a throw of 13.24 meters (43'5.2%") on his fifth attempt. Michael De Falcis was second in the javelin with a career best toss of 52.98 meters (173'10") on his third throw while Ian Paul was third with a mark of 52.43 meters (172'0") on his first toss.
 
INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Stankus moved into the record books in the pole vault at number sixth with his height of 4.25 meters. Reynolds improved his career best mark in the hammer throw to 49.14 meters which is third on the program top 10 list.
 
UP NEXT
The Dutchmen will compete at next weekend's Messiah Multi and Invitational starting on Thursday April 13 and finishing on Saturday April 15. A couple of runners are also expected to compete at Bucknell next weekend.
