ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's
Kylie Balthaser was named the Softball MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week on Monday in a release by the Middle Atlantic Conference office.
Balthaser led the Dutchmen to a 5-1 week including a 4-0 conference mark with a .500 average and 1.000 slugging percentage hitting two doubles and two home runs. She knocked in nine runs and scored five. The graduate student hit a three-run home run in the first inning and then knocked in a run on a single in the fifth of a 5-1 game one victory at Hood. She hit another home run in game two against the Blazers and finished 2-2 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk in the 13-0 five-inning win. On Saturday she went 2-2 with three RBI, a run scored and two walks in a 12-2 five-inning victory at York in game two after the Dutchmen won the opener 2-1 in 10 innings.
The graduate student earns her first career conference weekly award and becomes the third Dutchman to be honored by the conference office this season. She also earns LVC's first Player of the Week award since last March when
Julia Craig earned the honor.
The Dutchmen will look to stay atop the conference standings on Thursday when they host Stevenson University for two games starting at 3 p.m. at the LVC Softball Park.
