HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The men's tennis team was defeated by a very good squad from Pfeiffer University on Tuesday afternoon at the Van der Meer Tennis Center in Hilton Head. The Falcons won the match 9-0.
The Dutchmen (5-2) played Pfeiffer (4-2) extremely close despite not being able to pick up a point. Two of the three doubles matches were 8-6 scores. LVC also played the Falcons close in the six singles matches.
Inside the Box Score
- Jesse Beck and Brady Mclucas dropped an 8-6 decision at number two doubles while Jeffrey Bauer and Brendan Byler were also victims of an 8-6 defeat at number three doubles.
- Michael Schuetz was the only Dutchman to win a set in the match. He won the first set of his number six singles match 6-1. The sophomore then dropped the second set 6-2 before being defeated in a very close third set 10-8.
- Beck dropped a very close match at number four singles 7-5, 6-4.
- Byler also had an incredibly close match at number five singles falling 6-4, 7-5.
