HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Jesse Beck and
Brendan Byler won their singles matches as the Lebanon Valley men's tennis team was defeated for the first time this year by a score of 6-3 to Gordon College on Monday afternoon at the Hilton Head Resort.
Gordon (3-2) won two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches. The Dutchmen (5-1) picked up points at number three doubles, number five singles, and number six singles.
Inside the Box Score
- Jacob Erb and Michael Schuetz earned the doubles victory with a 8-7 (9-7) victory in their first match of the year playing together.
- Beck improved to 6-0 in duals with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at number five singles.
- Byler is now 8-0 in singles play after winning 6-3, 6-2 at number six singles.
- Justin Schuetz and Jeffrey Bauer went three sets in their matches as Schuetz was defeated 1-6, 6-3, 10-3 at number one singles. Bauer's number three singles match was tight as the senior played to a 7-5, 6-7 (8-10), 10-6 defeat.

The Dutchmen will look to rebound tomorrow morning when they face Pfeiffer University at 10:30 a.m. at the Van der Meer Tennis Center.
