Bollinger Records Hat Trick at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – Lebanon Valley junior Jake Bollinger scored three goals for his seventh hat trick of the year for the men's lacrosse team in the conference opener at Widener University on Wednesday evening in Chester. The host Pride scored the first seven goals of the game and won 24-8.
 
Widener (4-5, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) outscored the Dutchmen (6-4, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) 8-1 in the opening quarter with Bollinger getting LVC on the scoreboard with 2:50 to go in the quarter. The Pride extended their lead to 11-1 before Bollinger scored his second goal of the game off an assist from Alex Kiviniemi. Widener responded with two goals before Carson Frey scored a man-up goal with 2:17 on the clock. Widener would extend the lead to 18-3 with the five goals of the game. Colin Hughes scored an unassisted goal and then LVC started the fourth with goals by Kiviniemi and Bollinger to cut the deficit to 19-6. The Pride outscored the Dutchmen 5-2 over the last 10 minutes to set the final score. Evan Miller and Josh Reinhardt scored the two goals for Lebanon Valley.

  • Kiviniemi had a goal and an assist for two points on eight shots.
  • The Dutchmen had four unassisted goals by Frey, Hughes, Reinhardt, and Miller.
