Dutchmen Men’s Tennis Sweeps Wilkes

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's tennis team finished off a Wilkes-Barre sweep by defeating Wilkes University 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in the first home match of the spring at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
 
LVC (8-3) dominated the Colonels by winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. The win over Wilkes was the program's first since April 19, 2003. The Colonels had won the past four matches including a 5-4 victory in Wilkes-Barre last spring.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren cruised to an 8-1 win in their number one doubles match for their third straight win playing together.
  • Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McLucas also were 8-1 winners at number three doubles to improve to 2-0 when playing together this year.
  • Jesse Beck and Brendan Byler were 8-5 winners at number two doubles for their third win of the year as a duo.
  • Byler won 6-0, 6-0 at number six singles where he is now 6-0 this season in duals. It is his second time this year winning without giving up a game.
  • Beck won 6-0, 6-1 at number five singles to improve to 9-2 on the season and 6-0 when playing number five.
  • Bauer was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at number three for his second consecutive win.
  • Schuetz improved to 6-3 at number one singles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
  • McLucas won 6-4, 6-0 at number four singles for his third dual win of the year.
  • Warren won 6-4, 6-4 at number two singles.
  • The Dutchmen have won 12 straight matches at the Shankroff Tennis Center dating back to last spring.

Lebanon Valley will begin their conference title defense this Saturday with a trip down to Maryland to take on Hood College at 1 p.m. in Frederick.
