FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Trey Ralston had a huge game with seven points to lead the Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team in a 18-12 battle won by host University of Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon in Virginia.
The sophomore got the Dutchmen (2-2) on the board first with a goal a little over a minute into the game. The Eagles (3-2) struck right back to tie the game and then took the lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
Alex Kiviniemi evened things up with a man-up goal before the Eagles finished off the quarter with three straight goals to take a 5-2 lead. Kiviniemi cut the deficit down to two goals to begin the second quarter. UMW scored before Kiviniemi finished off his hat trick with just over six minutes left in the half. The Eagles responded with a pair of goals before Collin Hughes finished off the half with a goal off an assist by Ralston to make it 8-5 at the half.
Carson Frey and
Evan Miller scored to cut the lead down to one goal with 10:25 left in the third. The Eagles went on a 6-0 run to take a 14-7 lead before Frey scored with nine second left in the quarter. Mary Washington took their biggest lead of the game with the next three goals to go up 17-8. Ralston scored twice and
Jack Kapcsos added a goal off an assist from Ralston to bring the Dutchmen within six at 17-11. The Eagles stopped the run with a goal before Ralston scored his third goal of the fourth quarter to set the final score.

- Ralston, Frey, and Kiviniemi combined for 16 of LVC's 20 points in the game.
- Raston scored four goals for the second straight game and added three assists on five shots.
- Frey had five points on two goals and three assists with two ground balls. He leads the team with 12 assists this season.
- Kiviniemi recorded his second hat trick of the season with three goals and an assist while taking a team-high nine shots.
- Miller, Kapcsos, and Hughes all had a goal each while Jake Bollinger recorded an assist.
