Men’s Lacrosse Defeats Delaware Valley for Second Straight Home Win

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's lacrosse team used a strong start holding visiting Delaware Valley University scoreless for the first 22 minutes in a 15-6 victory over the Aggies on Saturday afternoon at Arnold Field.
 
The Dutchmen (2-1) scored three times in the first 15 minutes of play as Jake Bollinger, Alex Kiviniemi, and Carson Frey all found the back of the net. LVC controlled possession winning three of the four faceoffs in the quarter. The scoring continued into the second quarter with Trey Ralston adding a man-up goal 34 seconds into the quarter. The Dutchmen would add three more goals before Delaware Valley got on the board. Ralston scored his third goal of the quarter before the Aggies finished the half with a pair of goals to cut the LVC advantage to 8-3 at halftime.
 
Ralston, Jack Kapcsos, and Evan Miller scored in the first five minutes of the third before DVU stopped the run. Colin Hughes, Jacob Mrose and Sean Poole added goals in the quarter to give LVC a 14-4 advantage. The Dutchmen started the fourth with a man-up goal by Kiviniemi and then the Aggies scored twice to wrap up the scoring in a fourth quarter that had eight different penalties called by both teams.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Ralston led the team in points with five on four goals and one assist. He put five of his seven shots on goal.
  • Frey had another great game dishing out assists with three. He added a goal and four ground balls.
  • Bollinger had a four-point day on two goals and two assists while Kiviniemi finished with two goals and an assist.
  • The Dutchmen had 10 different goal scorers in the game.
  • Ben Weathersby led the team with seven ground balls and had an assist.
  • Kellen Markley stopped eight shots before William Ward came on in relief and made one save.
  • Gavin Porter won 10 of his 15 faceoff attempts.
  • LVC outshot the Aggies 48-38 including 28-15 on goal.

LVC will head south to University of Mary Washington on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. start against the Eagles in Virginia.
